Transparency in brewing is a fundamental ingredient for success. 🌟 Check out Charles Nouwen’ recent post — he’s making a similar point to the one I just shared. Sometimes what we’re sold isn’t as clear as it seems. In brewing, it’s an eternal battle between knowledge that empowers and marketing stunts that mislead. Without transparency, we lose any connection to the product. More thoughts on this in my recent post: "Transparency in Brewing: A Fundamental Ingredient or a Blind Spot"

As I was reading the following headline I struggled to contain a little smile. "‘Spanish’ beer Madrí—brewed entirely in the U.K. and owned by $10.6 billion giant Molson Coors—accused of dishonesty by Spanish brewer Estrella". It's actually quite stunning to see such an interest for Spanish beers in UK. (on top of a previous wave of ... Italian lagers.). Well let me put some truths on the table for you. A nice and simple table reminding everyone that stories are not always designed to be true. Note that I'm not taking away the quality of beer here, just saying that what you're being sold is pleasure not truth (a bit like a recent boxing match). Enjoy!

It’s Thursday, so throwing it back to honor what was once my favorite day of the week - Bowling night. In college, we rolled every Thursday for three years. Take that for a liberal arts education! I could’ve told you from experience that bowlers over-index in beer consumption, but here are some numbers on the bowling participant to back it up: 🎳 Bowlers are beer drinkers - 54% consume beer on a monthly basis, which is 40% more than the average U.S. adult (21+). 🎳 Bowlers prefer domestic beer; US beer brands rank first among bowlers alcoholic beverage of choice. 🎳 Bowlers like to party - they are 2x more likely to go to bars or clubs than the average US adult 21+. Checkout the throwback photo our team (50 Shades of Chay) below! Samuel Boissard, Alex Saralegui, Austin Zimmerman, Toby Porter And thanks to Grace Kang for the insights!

The best beer in the world?🍺 Today it was time to bottle the beer that has been bubbling away at home for the last few weeks. It's a team sport. Daughter F2 - Bottle dispenser (newest team member: years of experience, 3) Daughter F1 - Carbonation sugar dropper (promoted from bottle dispensing: years of experience, 6) Husband - Beer dispensing (years of experience, best not to ask) Me - Bottle capping (as above) Here comes the (cringe) LinkedIn anecdote: To me, there's nothing more satisfying than bringing out the strengths of individuals in a team, and seeing the potential for great things bloom. It's hugely motivating, and pushes me to do my best to remove whatever obstacles pop up in their path to success. Most importantly, each individual teaches me how to become the leader they need to move forward. It's inspiring and I'm always learning. It's a privilege to do this every day at NIRAS - and beer just happens to be part of our business. 😉🍻 Today's team result: 13 bottles of the best beer in the world. To us. Probably.* *If they don't explode. #teamsport #process #beer #brewing #herewegrow #niras
