The Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva is a naturally sheltered port located in the South-West of Europe at the intersection of the major global shipping routes. It is a core port of the Trans European Transport Network (TEN-T) being the official node of the #AtlanticCorridor towards the Canary Islands. The “Intermodal Platform” project has played a key role in achieving the goal of improving the efficiency in maritime and inland connectivity for the continuity and integration of global supply chains. The Intermodal Platform is It is a multimodal logistics platform located at the entrance of the port, that integrates: - a RO-PAX terminal - a Border Control Post - a 750 m double-track railway terminal, attached to a container terminal that currently handles more than 50 container trains per month.   As a continuation of the project, the project Intermodal Platform II, also financed by the CEF Transport programme, started a few months ago. This project includes the construction of a new double Ro-Ro ramp that is being carried out at the South Wharf, which will increase the capacity to provide service to short-sea shipping companies that operate regular maritime lines specialised in road transport, favouring connections with the Canary Islands, as well as facilitating and accelerating the implementation of new connections to other national and European destinations and to third countries.   Another action included in the project is the development of electrical infrastructures that will enable the Port of Huelva's tugboats to be supplied with electricity when they are docked, so that they can disconnect their auxiliary engines with the consequent reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases.   Another initiative related to multimodality in the Port of Huelva is the implementation of a Rolling Motorway service with the centre and north of the Iberian Peninsula, which is considered an initiative of European interest within the framework of the Atlantic Corridor. This initiative includes the construction of a third track at the rail-road terminal, which, together with the Ro-Pax terminal, provides an integral solution to the maritime-terrestrial logistics chains that converge at the Port of Huelva, allowing a truck  to cross the Iberian Peninsula entirety and travel to the Canary Islands without a driver, with the consequent environmental and economic savings, and going from a rolling motorway to a rolling-sea motorway. #CEFTransport #CINEA #EU #IntermodalPlatform #PortofHuelva

This MoU delivers multiple potential export infrastructure options for Ohmgebirge and emphasises overland transport advantages possessed by #SHP relative to key suppliers into #potash export markets. "While we plan to sell much of our potash output from Ohmgebirge into proximate European demand, it is also anticipated that Ohmgebirge will supply key export markets such as Brazil and North America to account for seasonality (as outlined in the preliminary marketing strategy we presented in the Ohmgebirge Scoping Study). HAS THE "MISSING LINK" FINALLY BEEN FOUND ? For many years in the Cape gauge rail network the 462 kilometre branch line between Kolwezi in the DRC and the border with Angola at Dilolo has been affectionately called "the missing link". "Missing" because it had fallen into disrepair and "Link" because it formed part of Scotsman Sir Robert Williams' 1929 rail corridor to the Atlantic (although in 2023 The White House erroneously described this as a "new" US backed railway). In 2019 Rovos Rail pioneered their "Two Oceans Journey" from Dar to Lobito and have shown twice a year that this link isn't "lost" despite it being in a poor state of repair. At Rail Africa this week Lobito Atlantic Railway presented current & future rail volumes showing that this corridor is still viable and carried 5,196 tonnes of export freight on 14 trains in May 2024 with impressive increases in volumes to come. KEDS today started with the installation project of the electrical "superconductor" 🌟👷, through which it is expected that the problem of electricity supply for Malisheva and all the villages of this municipality will be solved, until the construction of the Substation by KOSTT , as a stable solution. For the installation of this super conductor - the first of its kind not only in Kosovo👷, but also in the region, all the aforementioned parameters have already been made and it is expected to be implemented in the existing electric line from Rahovec Substation to that of Malisheva. As such, this project is of particular importance for the Malisheva region, because the limited lack of supply capacity from the current infrastructure has not yet met the demands of our consumers there. As reported by BNamericas the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) expects the tender for the construction of a 1.2km extension of #Bolivian capital La Paz’s cable car system, known as Mi Teleférico, to be launched during the first half of 2024.
