MSNCCN is a 2-year (4 Semesters) full-time program that prepares nurses as specialized health care providers to neonates and their families in acute care settings. The program's primary focus is to prepare graduates to promote, maintain, supervise, and restore health, identify health risks, and assess, diagnose, and manage acute illness in neonates. The ability to function as an educator, leader, consultant, advocate, and change agent is essential to developing evidence-based knowledge and clinical expertise in this role. #NeonatalNursing #NeonateCare #AcuteCareNursing #NursePractitioner #HealthcareLeadership #EvidenceBasedPractice #FamilyCenteredCare #HealthRisksAssessment #AdvancedNursingPractice #NursesAsEducators #UAE

I believe that one reason why some men prefer seeking medical care in hospitals rather than primary healthcare facilities is because the latter is often perceived as femicentric. While I commend our nursing colleagues for their exceptional work in these settings, the fact that nearly 90% of the nursing workforce is female may pose a barrier for men in accessing healthcare. How can we address this issue and make primary healthcare more inclusive for all individuals? In the below radio interview, I answered some of the burning questions on mens health #Healthcare #GenderDisparities #PublicHealth

Nurse practitioner attacked at hospital In a harrowing episode within the corridors of healthcare, a nurse practitioner's routine day turned nightmarish when an agitated patient, amidst a struggle with security, violently assaulted her. The aftermath saw her transition from caregiver to patient, necessitating a grueling journey of physical and emotional rehabilitation. The plot thickens when the hospital, in a move to protect its image, offers to cover all her expenses in exchange for her silence. They present her with a non-disclosure agreement, bluntly stating this incident is "bad for business." This story is not just about recovery but also highlights the ethical dilemma faced by healthcare professionals, caught between patient care and the commercial interests of their institutions. There are SO many serious concerns in the US right now, especially in healthcare: private equity firms driving hospitals into the ground, widespread abuse and fraud, profound inequity in access and outcomes. We don't need to be inventing turf wars (in my head physicians snapping their fingers like West Side story as they approach a group of new grad NPs and PAs). I promise you, and evidence supports, there're more than enough patients for the amount of providers. Opponents of nurse practitioners contend that quality of care may suffer under the direction of a non-physician practitioner, citing the shorter length of training and clinical experience required. Their argument is that restrictions are necessary to protect public health. However, academic literature finds no evidence of harm to patients associated with less-restrictive Scope of Practice (SOP) laws. When no harm is present, the restrictions serve only to generate artificial barriers to care that ultimately provide physicians with protection from competition, prevent the attainment of system-wide efficiencies, and constrain overall provider capacity The truth is that NPs provide a substantial portion of the high-quality, cost-effective care that communities nationwide require. According to MedPAC, APRNs and PAs comprise approximately one-third of our primary care workforce, and up to half in rural areas. NPs are essential to providing equitable access to care for all communities, including a substantial portion of health care in rural areas and areas of lower socioeconomic and health status. We're here, we deliver high quality care, get over it. ✌ #nursepractitioner #americanhealthcare #bloomberg #nursing #healthcare #nurse

Every month, the AlignMed Partners clinical leadership team hosts a provider update call, where they discuss important healthcare topics relevant to the geriatric community. Check out this article shared by our Chief Medical Officer Dr. Loome during the call: https://zurl.co/UZe2. This month's topic is the "Impact of Tailored Multicomponent Exercise for Preventing Weakness and Falls on Nursing Home Residents’ Functional Capacity," which questions whether the benefits of introducing various exercise programs in nursing homes remain after a predetermined time period, specifically with older, sarcopenic residents. #longtermcare #LTC #alignmedpartners #subacutecare #PA #NP #physician #physicianassistant #nursepractitioner #skillednursing #healthcare #sarcopenia #endoflifecare #nursinghomes
