The market cap of Centerpoint and the market cap of a privately owned Whataburger are worlds apart. Yet Whataburger can hire a competent and qualified person to build an outage tracker better than Centerpoint. I am going to be nuanced here. Centerpoint did not expect this level of damage and unprecedented traffic on their website. Centerpoint has to have a risk management strategy and experts that are paid accordingly to do what they do best. Or they deliberately were not prepared adequately to respond to such a weather event.
