Seeing a few BERDO/BUEDO decarbonization playbooks making the rounds and am a bit concerned... 🤔 ...that holistic thinking about a building is being replaced by tunnel vision on one or two aspects of a decarbonization project. With each building having its own conditions and rehab history, there are many variables to consider in a decarbonization plan -- envelope condition and its ability to support new structure, existing mechanical/plumbing equipment lifespan, air tightness of both walls and ducts, etc etc. There's not a one-size-fits-all approach and tackling one thing before another might impact your building or budget negatively in the long term. I love to work with building owners on this kind of thing, but I'm certainly not the only one.
