José's Abstract: Polysorbates are non-ionic surfactants used extensively in the development and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. Despite their widespread use, evaluating the composition of polysorbates is difficult due to their heterogeneity. In this presentation, we will highlight several 1D and 2D NMR approaches to study the inherent chemical complexity of polysorbate surfactants at a molecular level. In addition, the use of NMR techniques to differentiate different classes of polysorbates and to investigate lot-to-lot variability will be discussed.

The oral route remains the most common route of drug administration and one of the most convenient and acceptable to patients, due to its non-invasiveness and ease of administration. Several attempts have been made in order to enhance the bioavailability of orally administered drugs and increase their absorption. Encapsulating the drugs in different lipid and polymeric nanoparticles (NP) is one example of these attempts. The present work, a systematic review of published works on several databases, followed by a meta-analysis, were utilized in order to navigate the published studies and access literature-based evidence about the capability of polymeric nanoparticulate systems to augment the absorption and bioavailability of orally administered drugs. This paper is discussing the oral delivery of new class of drugs. PROTACs. Their physiochemical important for oral delivery are classified beyond the Lipinski’s rule of 5 (Ro5)(p4) and Veber’s rule(p5) that were defined by analysis of ‘traditional’ small molecule drugs and drug candidates.
