Tom, good observation in light of the perceived shortages in supply in copper that has been predicted over the next few years, it is important that investors realise that this is the time to invest in the exploration of copper projects that may lead to the discoveries of the future. Zambia is definitely one of the places to be right now. #Zamare #Copper #GreenMetals.
We have just been working on putting together some new slides for Zamare Minerals Ltd. 1 thing I find really interesting about the Zambian copperbelt (in particular the domes region) is that there are no significant modern discoveries - all the big mines developed in recent decades were known occurrences or small resources found by RST in the 60s. Zamare are looking to change that and so are the other juniors who we are happy to call our neighbours: Arc Minerals Limited, TERTIARY MINERALS PLC, Prospect Resources Limited, Midnight Sun Mining (TSXV: MMA) (OTC: MDNGF) (honorable mention to BeMetals Corp. who are a little further SW and didn't make the map).

We've received payment of $3.3 million from Saskatchewan Research Council for sale of stockpiled rare earth material, as announced last month. The sale was facilitated by Natural Resources Canada relating to our stockpiled rare earth material derived from a previous mining campaign on Nechalacho’s North T deposit. We remain focused on developing the Tardiff deposit at Nechalacho and will deliver a Scoping Study for Tardiff in CY2024. Managing Director Lisa Riley said: “Our sale of stockpiled material to SRC is now complete, allowing Vital to derive value from our earlier work at Nechalacho. This allows us to focus on development of Tardiff as a long-life, large-scale rare earths project. A Scoping Study is the next logical step in our pathway and we are on track to deliver the study by the end of 2024. “We expect our newsflow to increase over the coming months as we work towards and achieve milestones towards its completion.” Read the full ASX Announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gRZPRcYe #VML #VitalMetals #REE #rareearths #Canada #ASX #ASXNews

Bluelake Mineral Norwegian subsidiary Joma Gruver AS has been granted extraction rights (utvinningsrett) by the Norwegian Mining Inspectorate (Direktoratet for Mineralforvaltning) for the mineralization in Gjersvik, which is located 24 km west of the Joma mine. According to a historical assessment from 1998, Gjersvik contains mineral resources of approximately 21,000 tonnes of reserves and approximately 931,000 tonnes of measured and indicated mineral resources with grades of 1.51% Cu and 1.21% Zn (Status report for Gjersvik mine, Norway, January 1, 1998 by Ulf Johannesen). All mineral resources have been estimated under the Australian JORC Code. Gjersvik will thus be able to constitute an important satellite project to the Joma mine with the possibility of extending the life of mine with up to two years. #copper #zinc #cobalt

Mexican mine boosts Coeur in Q1 Solid performances at the Palmarejo complex in Mexico’s Chihuahua state and Wharf in South Dakota boosted US-based Coeur Mining in Q1. “Solid performances at Palmarejo and Wharf led to the total production of 80,744oz of #gold and 2.6Moz of #silver compared to 69,039oz of gold and 2.5Moz of silver in the first quarter of 2023,” the company said in its first-quarter results. “Production levels are expected to increase over the balance of 2024, driven primarily by the ramp-up at Rochester [in Nevada]” According to the miner, Palmarejo achieved its highest quarterly production in several years thanks to strong contributions from the Guadalupe and Independencia underground operations, while Wharf delivered a stronger-than-planned quarter after achieving a record performance in 2023. #mining #mexico

This plan will give you an idea of the density of mineral exploration in the Matlock to Matlock Bath area, it covers an area approximately two-miles north-south and one-mile east-west. Both the river Derwent and the A6 road running along the steep-sided valley bottom. The map does not show the literally thousands of shafts found on Masson Moor, nor does it show all of the underground workings and smaller quarries. The commercially exploited minerals in the area were mainly galena and fluorspar, with limestone being quarried. Mining ceased in the area in the 1960s along with most of the quarries on this map by the 1990s - the exceptions being Slinter's Quarry and the recently re-opened Ball Eye Quarry. Just off the map are the operating quarries of LONGCLIFFE QUARRIES LIMITED (Brassington Moor and Ryder Point) and Tarmac's Dene Quarry. Keep an eye on the diamond mining sector as we seem to be in a period in which mines are struggling and operators are pulling back. We know about Anglo American's plans to divest from De Beers Group, but we also learned that Lucapa Diamond Company Ltd is looking to divest from the Mothae mine in Lesotho, and recently Stornoway Diamonds announced the closure of the Renard mine in Canada. We know also that the alluvial miners along the Orange River in South Africa are under tremendous pressure, with several already halting operations. So, what’s going on? The bottom line is that these operations cannot be sustained in a prolonged weak market, especially if they’re the only asset in a company’s portfolio with relatively low production. Diamond miners are under pressure. What does that say about the diamond market? And what’s the remedy? My latest video explores...

A day of meetings in Lima yesterday including: 👷🏽Alberto Rios, GEOLOGICAL CONSULTANT TO OUR BOKU JV Alberto presented technical information on Tesoro and discussed three #gold rich vein systems, including Bonanza where our mine is located. We also discussed our polymetallic concession, Ana Lucia. Analogues were drawn with the Cerro Bayo mine in the centre of the concession, which was mined for a decade until two years ago. 🪙A TAILINGS DEPOSIT OWNER We would need to undertake a relatively low-cost resource assessment and metallurgical analysis, followed by a feasibility study to reach a final investment decision on the potential to process this and other similar tailings cleaning opportunities. #Mining #Peru
