What if I told you that you can have an appealing dashboard in Excel as in PowerBI? Anyway, natively, powerbi reports are simple but external tools (Python, Figma, Power Point...) take it to another level, but some of these tools do work with Excel too

Excellent point! These days, I am actually a bit surprised when I meet a manager, Scrum Master, or project manager, that knows what a critical path is. I am even more surprised if they know what a critical chain is, and the difference between the two. It shouldn't be that way. Consider, if something this basic is missing, what else is missing? On the upside, I do meet developers who know the terms, from time to time.

You have to start early these days.

Something we may not be talking about enough. Not just tech workers, but everyone! On Sunday, October 8th, as the tally of the fallen from Nova and Be'eri, and so much more was still growing in number (I remember the counter on the TV), I was on the phone with my boss arranging for an emergency work setup. As an HR person, and amongst my own personal shock and horror mid-processing, my immediate reaction was to jump into action, assess the situation, and figure out a plan. The first plan of action became to call every employee, all 80 of them, see where they were, if they were ok, if they were safe. Over the course of the next few weeks, I made lengthier calls to a large number of our employees. The intention had been to call everyone, but after so many successive calls, lasting upwards of 20 and 30 minutes, I was left emotionally drained and exhausted. I could do little else. Yet, I kept going. Work continued, and it felt as though we didn't leave ourselves any space to stop and breathe. And we haven't really since. In retrospect, jumping into action was the only thing I thought to do, in many ways, it kept me from facing reality for those first few weeks, maybe even from having a breakdown. The news was always on in the background, and it just kept getting worse, but at least I had a mission that meant I could tune it out. I wish I would've fought for more time to process, not just for me, but for employees in the company who needed it too. Running from the problem is like ignoring an infection and hoping it heals on its own. Israelis tend to be hyper productive in moments like this, wanting to show that we'll never back down, that nothing can affect us, and the truth is, we probably can't afford to stop right now. Oct. 7th is trauma on a national scale, and at some point, slowly, we'll have to stop to tend to it, show it love, and hopefully it will begin to heal. When that time will be, no one can say, but I hope it happens soon. So, what's your Oct. 7th story? I'd love to hear it, if not to help me begin processing the past 10 months. #bringthemhomenow
