Harmonization of #cancer #clinicogenomics #realworlddata from patients for drug development takes a lot of time and resources. That's why pharma companies often start with #TCGA and develop an internal platform to browse that one dataset and integrate it with their own. Despite TCGA being NOT the largest "publicly available" multi omics cancer patient dataset, it's the largest that is openly accessible at de-identified aggregated level. Any other larger dataset takes over 6 months, sometimes over a year, to get info even just about 1 target, even aggregated. That's the key reason why TCGA has become the most cited, with worldwide recognition, driving research all over the world.

In a groundbreaking research collaboration, Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. and AstraZeneca tapped into the ConcertAI data to deeply understand treatment patterns and outcomes for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (mNSCLC) patients in the US. Using the ConcertAI Patient360™ NSCLC EMR database, they meticulously studied treatment patterns after discontinuation of standard care therapies. The research encompassed 1,386 patients without actionable genomic alterations (woAGA) and 349 with them (wAGA). It was observed that after their initial treatments, many patients face limited therapeutic options, often resorting to non-platinum-based chemotherapy or retrial of previously used therapies. The real-world outcomes from this study underscore the pressing need for more effective treatments post standard care therapies.
