One of the privileges RBR has is supporting Veterans through the DoD Skillbridge program. Avery Beamon, a RBR Skillbridge intern, recently completed his internship with our company. During his internship, Avery was exposed to enabling support operations (HR, IT, etc..) within our corporation. He learned a lot about the factors a defense contractor must consider when supporting government customers as well as the factors involved in the hiring of transitioning service members. Avery was also able to obtain his Security + certification while interning with RBR. RBR’s Skillbridge internship will certainly help Avery make a well-informed decision for his post military service employer. The corporate team really enjoyed having Avery on the team during the internship and wish him much success in his future career.

As I continue to build and improve our internship programs at Richard Group I would like to gain some insight from those of you who see this post regarding DOD Skillbridge experiences or expectations. For those of you who have completed or are looking to begin your skillbridge transition program, what are some takeaways from or expectations for your host company? What is your ideal length of time for the internship with it being a max of 6 months? What aspects attract you most to certain roles/companies when considering your first job opportunity upon transitioning from the military? There are dozens of questions to ask, and with my own skillbridge experience I have a good standard for how I believe the program should be run, but hearing more than just my own opinion is essential to making an outstanding program. Whether you're a veteran who has or is going to participate in a skillbridge, or a company representative in charge of the skillbridge process at your respective company, any insight is welcome. #skillbridge #transitioning #veterans #grit #gratitude #greatness

The Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge program is essential in aiding service members' transition to civilian careers. By offering internships and training during their last 180 days of service, SkillBridge equips them with valuable skills and experience, ensuring they are workforce-ready. This program not only benefits veterans but also fills critical skill gaps in various industries, fostering a robust and competitive economy. More companies should support the SkillBridge program, recognizing the mutual benefits it provides. By participating, businesses gain access to a pool of disciplined, skilled, and dedicated individuals. This collaboration enhances their workforce diversity and brings fresh perspectives, ultimately driving innovation and growth within the organization.

As a graduate of a similar accelerated dual degree program at Quinnipiac University - School of Business (JD/MBA), I use the skills and experience from the program everyday.
A chance visit to Quinnipiac from Florida and the ambition to join a top Fortune 500 company has propelled Anthony Rossi ’23, MBA ’24, into an internship with Boeing, the number-one ranked aerospace and defense manufacturer on the S&P 500. https://loom.ly/X0mTMb0 #QuinnipiacUniversity #QuinnipiacSchoolofBusiness

RBR Technologies is now able to host SkillBridge interns as they transition out of the military. What are the things you think would be most valuable to learn during this time if you've participated in the SkillBridge program? If you haven't, what would you hope to gain the most from an internship like this?
