Sometimes we need to take a risk to keep others safe. As we navigate the evolving landscape of athlete safety, I'm reminded of a pivotal moment early in my career at USA Baseball. The Safe Sport Act was a turning point, presenting both challenges and opportunities. It taught me a valuable lesson about embracing risk for transformative change. 🚀 Risk-taking, in this context, wasn’t about recklessness but about stepping up to fill a crucial need. When no one in the organization wanted to handle the complexities of the Safe Sport Act, I saw an opportunity to make a significant impact. This decision not only advanced my career but also helped shape safer sporting environments for athletes. 🛡️ In 2024, let’s approach athlete safety with the same mindset. Let’s not shy away from the challenges but see them as opportunities to innovate and lead.
