Introducing ”What’s your life about?” — a fresh way for humans to express what truly matters right now. In a world overflowing with information, we’ve reimagined how you can connect with others, distilling your current experiences, goals, or feelings into concise one or two-word “tags”. Rather than the traditional bio, this feature offers a new, simpler way to communicate — quick, direct, and to the point. Whether you’re all about “rediscovering myself,” “tarkovsky films,” “global warming,” “learning spanish,” or “raising twins,” these tags capture the essence of your life at this moment, making it easier for humans to connect meaningfully and instantly in today’s fast-paced world.

https://lnkd.in/erBAS-xu For those who are perhaps skeptical of climate change and the economic risks therein, the scientific evidence is compelling. Moreover, this energy is trapped via CO2 for 150-200 years. We have solutions to climate change. It’s time business and governments invest or encourage an ecosystem that fosters scientific solutions to reverse climate change. We at Atmosfuture have a solution to reverse climate change and this is simply a scientific fact. The process of raising awareness is painfully slow when we could and can reverse climate change. Don’t believe us. Challenge us! We have no choice but to create solutions as there is currently no global consensus on the urgency of a solution. What to know more. Contact us.

We strongly encourage you to watch and share this critical TED talk by the brilliant Johan Rockström. It's a wake-up call we cannot afford to ignore. https://lnkd.in/d-vUQSAm 🌍 Key Takeaways: The planet is changing at an alarming rate, far faster than scientists predicted. We're witnessing an acceleration in global warming, and all the indicators essential for human well-being look the same. The news is grim, especially regarding unexplained ocean warming in 2023 and 2024. ⏳ Two Crucial Messages: 1. Buckle Up: Severe weather events are set to increase in frequency and intensity within our lifetime. Despite the record-breaking heat of 2023, it will in future be looked back on as a mild year! 2. Our Planet's Health must be kept in tact: We must preserve the Earth's ability to absorb carbon dioxide and regulate ocean temperatures. This is non-negotiable. 🔬 The Science is Clear: The window for action is rapidly closing. 🌟 But There is Hope: We're at a crucial crossroads with immense opportunity. We have the solutions at our fingertips, but we must act swiftly and decisively. What We Need to Do: - Rapidly transition away from fossil fuels. - Shift to circular business models. - Adopt sustainable diets. - Halt environmental destruction and scale up efforts to regenerate nature. Let's not let this opportunity slip through our fingers. #CommunityResilience #EcosystemRevival #ClimateAction #GetOnBoard

I’m sharing this incredibly important TED talk because it carries a message we can’t ignore. It's easy to become desensitised to warnings about global warming, but we can’t afford to tune out. Johann's insights in this talk are both alarming and thought-provoking. - Yes, we will overshoot 1.5°C. - Yes, severe weather events will worsen. - Yes, temperatures will keep rising. But it’s not the end of the story and we have to turn things around to restore balance for future generations to thrive. This talk highlights a crucial message about opportunity. We should be enthused to grasp this opportunity. Let’s channel our concern into action and be the change-makers our planet desperately needs.

Understanding the key factors driving climate change is crucial for addressing this global challenge. The four major components include: - Greenhouse Gas Emissions: CO₂, CH₄, and N₂O from various sources trap heat in the atmosphere, causing global warming. - Deforestation: Clearing forests diminishes the Earth's ability to absorb CO₂, accelerating climate change. - Land Use Changes: Human activities like agriculture and urbanization impact greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sequestration. - Solar Radiation and Natural Cycles: Natural phenomena like solar output variations and ocean currents also affect climate patterns, albeit to a lesser extent than human activities. These factors interplay, shaping the Earth's climate systems. Understanding their dynamics is vital in combating the effects of climate change.

I'm excited to share that I've just completed the Climate Science Olympiad's Crash Course on climate change! This fantastic resource broke down complex topics into bite-sized pieces, making it easy to understand the science behind global warming, even for those without a scientific background. The course explored the causes of climate change, from human activities like fossil fuel use to natural factors. It also delved into the potential future impacts and what we can do as individuals to be part of the solution. Here are some key takeaways that resonated with me: -Climate change is a solvable problem, but it requires collective action. Individual choices matter! -From reducing our carbon footprint to advocating for climate action, there are many ways we can all make a difference. What are your thoughts on climate change? Have you taken any steps to reduce your impact? #climateaction #climatescience #CSOcrashcourse

✨ Did you know? Eunice Newton Foote was a pioneer in greenhouse effect research! Born in 1819, she was the first to study how sunlight warms gases and theorized the gradual warming of the Earth's atmosphere—what we now call the greenhouse effect. Eunice Newton Foote's first paper entitled "Circumstances Affecting the Heat of the Sun's Rays" was found in a copy of the 1857 edition of the "Annual Scientific Discovery", edited by engineer David A. Wells. So, it is clear that Eunice Foote deserves credit for being an innovator on the question of CO2 and its potential impact on global climate warming. Her insights on rising carbon dioxide levels are more relevant than ever as we confront climate change today. Let’s honor her legacy by taking care of our planet! 🌍💚 #climatechange #climateaction #greenhouseeffect #eunicefoote #femalescientist

Developer of Top Tasks research method. Author of World Wide Waste: How digital is killing the planet and what to do about it.
"A lot of public attention goes to the promise of electric vehicles, meaning less oil will be needed for road transport. What remains hidden, however, are the disruptive transformations of the landscapes and societies through which lithium travels. It is these transformations that the project brings into public view. For we are convinced that through empirical assessment of the side effects of this planetary strategy to respond to global warming, we can avoid implementing climate solutions that end up worsening our current social and environmental problems." https://lnkd.in/ewGKeWjv

The impact of climate change reinforces the urgency of the transition from a brown economy, based on burning fossil fuels, to a green economy, centered on sustainability. To prevent global warming from exceeding 1.5ºC above pre-Industrial Revolution levels, deep decarbonization is key to achieving the goal of Net Zero emissions by 2050. In this article, which I recently published in MIT Technology Review Brazil, I go into more detail on the subject: https://lnkd.in/exhRG_qn
