"My boss doesn't have time to give me the support I need to do my job." Now what? Here's a revolutionary thought: Go somewhere else! Be creative. Seek out mentors, coaches, or collaborative groups. Embrace the wisdom around you, even if it doesn't come from the usual source.

“I spend so much time supporting my employees with anything that’s bothering them, but they still don’t pull their weight and take multiple coffee breaks each day.” Creating an open atmosphere is crucial, but what happens when you feel taken advantage of by your team? That has to sting. But supporting employees with their wellbeing will not translate into higher productivity if job expectations are hazy. Just as you feel secure when your boss outlines your tasks, your team benefits from clarity. If you can’t be honest about what you expect of your team and when, the results might not align with your efforts. It's embarrassing. When you share something personal that can result in others judging you negatively, you feel vulnerable and exposed. It takes courage. And today, people salute that courage.
