'I run an internal accessibility Expo for GAAD at Rebellion, where we invite charity guests like SpecialEffect and RNIB, showcase our own work, and other things to be inspired by. It’s a fantastic event for our team, to get them interacting with subject matter experts and seeing some of the things we’re up to across our projects! These moments of talking to experts, getting hand on with accessible hardware, and testing features and tools in other projects helps us get a more rounded understanding of accessibility inside and outside of Rebellion, and helps inspire us to innovate. I am inspired when the teams are inspired, and this is why events like this matter. It helps us all think about accessibility in our work and drives us to create games more people can play.' In the vibrant realm of digital landscapes, where pixels dance to the rhythm of untold tales, a group of young girls has found their sanctuary – the world of gaming. In this pixelated wonderland, they not only conquer virtual realms but also break barriers in a reality where stereotypes persist. Help me give my students a opportunity to bridge the gap and address the underrepresentation of women in STEM and esports. Along with building a healthy safe environment for females to progress in gaming. https://lnkd.in/e4DX3fxP #girlsinstem #girlsintech #girlswhocode #girlswhogame

🥳🥂🫂 I'm going to GDC Game Developers Conference!!! Epic-level thanks to Amir Satvat for being the absolute champion that he is and the generosity of JALI Research Inc. + Vanessa Field 🔜 GDC for donating passes to #Ticket2Ride. My first time attending will be uniquely special and with this I (graciously) have the burden of ensuring I don't squander their goodwill, so I want to #meetup with EVERYONE! 🎊 🎯For everyone making games I want to speak with YOU! - Need guidance on how to operate so you can spend more time creating? I'm your guide. - Not sure how to scale while maintaining alignment? Consider me your clarity. - Have a mess of things that need done but can't afford 7 different people? I will bring order to chaos for you. See you soon! 🛫 (If I don't sleep for 5 days straight it'll be worth it!) 🙋♂️For those who don't know me: I started in games in 2011 launching the The Pokémon Company International's Pokémon Trading Card Game Online and since then have shipped Injustice, Call of Duty, Overwatch League and even BlizzCon for companies from Blizzard Entertainment to casinos in Macao. My roles have evolved from environment art to project management in games and operations leadership in technology companies behind the development pipelines of critically acclaimed Hollywood productions to further expand my skills. I am an infinitely flexible operational efficacy expert and I live to see teams create with less friction. #gamedev #openforwork #gdc2024

Forget the tired stereotype of gamers slumped in front of screens. In Dorchester School District 2, esports are taking center stage in schools, offering students a dynamic world of competition, skill development, and career exploration. It's not just about racking up wins in "Valorant" or mastering the drifts in "Mario Kart" – although there's plenty of that too! Esports are more than just a fun way to pass the time. They're an educational tool, a career springboard, and a vital step towards building a future generation of skilled, confident, and connected individuals. #LenovoLegion #esports #gaming #gamingcommunity #esportscareers #esportsindustry #esportsjobs #letsgo #esportslife DD2 starts first eSports program in Lowcountry | News | postandcourier.com

Play-Consultant/Play-Mentor/Emotional Literacy/Child-Advocate/Therapeutic Playwork/Preventive-Practitioner.
Play is not just instinctive but intrinsic and significantly imperative as a means to understand the world around us as human beings. The language of Play...▶️ is globally recognised to how we learn... whether it be to help, be helped or to have been hindered. Within Play...▶️ we can find a place for coexistence with regulation, co-regulation, regard, respect, responsibility and reconciliation. It allows and extends the platform for human behaviour to be able to experience exploration and research of the self from any age, gender, ability and culture which undoubtedly leads us to how we made sense of the world we lived in, live in presently... and also prepare for living in the future. It is one of those keys...🗝️ to our survival instincts and existence.
Playing Out got a shoutout in this article calling for the new Government to support outdoor play: "Charities including Playing Out and Opal do what they can, but lack clout and resources. A report by MPs on children and the built environment was almost finished when the election was called; now, there is no guarantee that it will ever be published. The attitude of the last government can be gathered from the fact that the children’s minister, David Johnston, declined to give evidence...Yes, play is instinctive, but the new government must move beyond the complacent assumption that children can reap its benefits in the absence of any public policy at all." Let's hope they're listening! https://lnkd.in/eza6F34w

Did you know that 29.5% of people with a disability have cited poor physical access at a stadium as a barrier to attending a sports event? This figure, provided by Level Playing Field (Reg Charity), paints a powerful picture of the challenge thousands of people face when trying to visit a sports stadium. Our latest blog looks at how sports stadiums can help tackle that problem by becoming more inclusive by including Changing Places toilets within their venues. We look at the latest accessibility figures featuring stadiums in the UK, why Changing Places are important and the options available to help more venues become inclusive. https://ow.ly/TKz350Q7SNX #changingplaces #accessibility #inclusion #sport #stadiums #construction

Raise social awareness through gamification! 📢💡For the American non-profit organization #RISE, we teamed up with On Board Experiential to launch a mobile game with a storyline that educates the sports community about discrimination and empowers them for social justice and racial equity. “Together We Rise” is a endless runner game that seamlessly blends fun with education, challenging players with quiz questions on vital social skills. Some of these questions, for instance, come directly from real-life examples of famous athletes who have persevered through discrimination in their sports careers and focus on Rise ’s charge of equipping young athletes with the tools to overcome discrimination and empower them for social justice in their lives. This experience is represented in the game, where players must rise through clouds of discrimination as a single spark—an approach that uses serious gaming to help users overcome discrimination in real life. 🙌 Check out our case page for more info on this special project ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e-x8F74v #TogetherWeRise #SocialJustice #SeriousGaming #RiseAgainstDiscrimination #InclusiveGaming #Demodern #CreativeTechnologies Demodern — Creative Technologies

Step 12 of 15: Over the last month, we have improved the accessibility of our long-term client, International Fundraising Consultancy’s (IFCo) website – www.groupifco.com. Page titles and meta descriptions are crucial for web accessibility. They provide clear, concise information about a page's content and purpose, aiding users in navigating the web more effectively. These elements can be read aloud for individuals using screen readers, offering an immediate understanding of what to expect on the page. Descriptive titles and meta descriptions also enhance usability for those with cognitive disabilities by reducing confusion and helping users quickly find relevant content. Steps 13 - 15 will be posted daily - check out all the steps at Dominic Rutterford or Brother #accessibility #webaccessibility #accessibilitystatement #waiaria #aria #landmarks #wcag #a11y #lottieanimation #webanimation
