Australian psychologists report positive attitudes towards routine patient monitoring; recognising its value in increasing patient engagement and improving patient outcomes. The barriers to outcome monitoring being more widely adopted are 1) the administrative burden for practitioners, 2) the perceived burden to patients and 3) not understanding how to interpret/translate outcomes in a meaningful way. These are the very barriers experienced by our founder and fellow practice owner, Dr Kiera Buchanan, in her practice Centre for Integrative Health. Recovery Metrics was born out of Dr Buchanan’s attempts to solve this problem in her own clinic. By integrating with practices’ current workflows & practice management systems and then automating the process of questionnaire administration, scoring, & analysis, Recovery Metrics has removed the barriers to outcome-based care. If your practice uses Halaxy, Powerdiary, or Nookal, get in touch with our support team and enquire about your eligibility to trial our integration with your current workflow and practice software. Hillside carefully assesses our clients' treatment outcomes by tracking indicators of treatment progress and success, including those evaluated by valid and reliable standardized measures completed at the start of treatment, various points of care, and at discharge. Using these measures, we have collected data from over 1,500 clients since 2019. The collection of these data serves two essential purposes. First, data are utilized to carefully follow a client’s progress. These data, in combination with our providers’ extensive clinical expertise, allow us to flexibly customize individual treatment plans to each client’s unique needs. Second, we statistically analyze these data to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs so that we can identify the therapies and approaches that result in the best treatment outcomes for our clients. MyDigiRecords addresses an important gap in current medical record systems. - Comprehensive health overview: Combining medical, dental, and mental health records provides a holistic view of a patient's health. - Improved care coordination: PCPs can make more informed decisions with access to complete health history. - Inclusion of over-the-counter medications: This often-overlooked information can be crucial for avoiding drug interactions. - Patient empowerment: Gives individuals more control over their health information. #digitalhealth #healthtech #patientempowerment #patienthealthcare

Wellbeing expert & developer of Warwick Holistic Health Questionnaire. Helping organisations to evaluate wellbeing.
On Saturday I'm a speaker at the Craniosacral Therapy Association UK AGM. The title of my presentation is Evaluating Wellbeing - Measuring What Matters to Clients - the theme of the day is 'Connection'. Clinical evaluation is about the connection between clinician and client, about monitoring what is important to the client. This comes as part of the relationship established between the two and the way the client feels seen, heard and met. From the clinicians perspective using a patient reported outcome measure enables you to systematically evaluate the outcomes over time, staying connected to 'what was' and 'what is' for the client and for the duration of their treatment plan. Using the clients narrative alongside a validated measure can be a rigorous and great way to evidence the work you are doing. #craniosacraltherapy #clinicalevaluation #measuringwhatmatters #connectionmatters

In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, the balance between doctor hustle and patient intolerance is a delicate dance. Here's a brief reflection: As doctors, we hustle tirelessly to provide the best care possible for our patients. We dedicate long hours, stay updated with the latest medical advancements, and strive to deliver compassionate and effective treatment. However, in a fast-paced world where instant gratification is the norm, patient intolerance can sometimes cloud the doctor-patient relationship. Patients may expect immediate solutions, quick fixes, or miracles, overlooking the complexities and uncertainties of medical practice. Finding the equilibrium between doctor hustle and patient intolerance is essential. It requires effective communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to patient-centered care. While doctors hustle to diagnose, treat, and heal, patients must also exercise patience, trust, and understanding. Let's foster a culture of collaboration and empathy in healthcare, where doctors and patients work together as partners in the pursuit of health and wellness. #Healthcare #DoctorPatientRelationship #Collaboration #Empathy #LinkedIn

In healthcare, our focus must transcend mere treatment plans and medical procedures. It's time to pivot towards a patient-centered approach, one that addresses the holistic needs of individuals under our care. Gone are the days of solely concentrating on diagnoses and prescriptions. Today, we stand at the forefront of a paradigm shift where understanding and fulfilling the diverse needs of patients take center stage. By adopting a patient-centered approach, we recognize that each individual is more than their ailment; they are a complex tapestry of emotions, experiences, and circumstances. From their physical health to their mental well-being, and from their cultural background to their socioeconomic status, every aspect warrants attention and consideration. As healthcare providers, it's our duty to not only heal the body but also nurture the spirit and uplift the mind. By embracing this holistic mindset, we empower patients to actively participate in their healing journey, fostering a sense of partnership and trust along the way. Let's commit ourselves to this transformative journey, where patient-centric care isn't just a buzzword but a guiding principle. Together, let's pave the way for a healthcare landscape that prioritizes empathy, understanding, and comprehensive support for every individual we serve. #PatientCenteredCare #HolisticHealth #HealthcareTransformation #EmpathyInMedicine #WellnessJourney
