The Blackout on LI, FB, Insta, etc, just proves that all platforms are vulnerable and the idea we can't live with without them is ridiculous, they are a tool in the tool box. (they make our jobs easier, but new ones pop up everyday) The bigger issue is how recruiters/sourcers have this idea about keeping notes and tracking pipeline through any public digital tool is extremely problematic. You are relying on: 1. Data is never going to be corrupt and that you will always have access to it... 2. Your company will continue to pay for subscriptions so that you have access to your pipeline. Recruiters and Sourcers need to be in the mindset that the data you have access to now may not be available tomorrow. With prices of ALL tools increasing two-fold the past couple of years, at some point organizations are going to stop paying. We need to make sure we manage our pipelines in a way that we always have access to them. The goal should always be to build your pipeline so that you don't have to rely on these tools in the future. #ihaveamilliondreams for #talentacquisition #recruiting #sourcing

My best advice to leaders in the recruiting space is to use tech to unblock time wherever you can so you can focus on making the client and candidate experiences excellent. Your old way of doing things won’t cut it for GenZ talent & Hiring Managers 😱 GenZ isn’t as patient when it comes to reading long unformatted CVs or when it comes to old websites that aren’t intuitive to fill out and look like Windows 95. Yet GenZ are the new Hiring Managers, and the new talent that agencies are looking to acquire. So it makes sense that we need to “meet them where they’re at”, no? Being in the RecTech space for a while now, I want to highlight two specific use cases I think can help an agency be more 2024-friendly: 1) Candidate.ly (Jan) is a platform to present clients to Hiring Managers in a super easy-on-the-eye manner. Clean interface, all of the information the Hiring Manager will need, all in a UI-friendly portal. If the Hiring Managers you work with are on the younger side, this is in my opinion something you have to take into consideration. 2) SourceFlow (Matt, Will) are building beautiful websites for recruiting agencies. They only support recruiting agencies, and for a reason- they’re the best at it. If your forms are sloppy, or the data is unformatted, then it’ll scare away the talent, and be useless inside your ATS because it’ll fail to be inputted. That’s why trusting a platform that has done it in such a beautiful and successful way for plenty of agencies, is the way to go, in my opinion. And by the way, it’s not just about adding new tools. Being UI-friendly should be across all ends on the business, from internal all the way to customer facing. Tune in for more takes on the RecTech landscape daily!

Are you hiring? Then open up. Properly. It makes such a difference. When Recruitment Directors share the full picture, warts and all, everybody wins. A couple of fantastic conversations this week got me thinking. The more a Recruiter knows, the better they can try to find the right people for you. It’s not rocket science, but it is worth a reminder. If you tell me every month/quarter is record breaking, every desk is red hot and every new hire always earns £100k in Y1 I won’t believe you. And I probably won’t work with you. If you share that your CRM is a bit clunky and that local parking is rubbish we’ve got something to work with. Old school recruiter versus new school recruiter. Old school recruiter; Thinks an ATS is political correctness gone mad. Thinks tracking metrics is for wimps. Was born with 5 offers to close. Loves picking up the phone. Sees recruitment as an art. Is a sales person. Hates reporting. New school recruiter; Simply adores candidates but hates calling them. Wants to ‘strategise’ & ‘whiteboard’ & ‘triage’. Loves to work on ‘impactful projects’. Sees recruitment as a science. Thinks ‘sell’ is a dirty word. Loves reporting and data. Loves an email. Any of this resonate? 😜

3 things we often hear when onboarding a new client.💡 1 - They are frustrated with being sent profiles of irrelevant candidates. 2 - They don't have the time to sieve through tens of CVs that aren't right. 3 - They feel as though the recruiters don't understand them or the person they are hiring.
