(2) ... the new provisions from the recent Net Zero Industry Act (#NZIA) agreement for the 𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 for renewables. Looking forward to discussing these and further regulatory framework requirements for accelerating the EU's solar PV build-out in line with #MissionSolar.

The Power Division is gearing up implementation of 125 green energy projects as it pursues a goal to meet 10% of the country's power needs from renewables by 2025. The generation capacity of these projects will be 12,047 megawatts, more than the country's present demand in winter and 70% of summertime consumption. The projects will have seven solar power plants which will store 20% of the produced electricity for use during evening peak hours. Of the renewable energy projects 51 are ongoing and 74 are under process. About 90% of the plants will be solar-based and the rest are wind and waste-to-energy plants. Germany aims to achieve 215 gigawatts of installed PV capacity by 2030, according to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). This target necessitates an increase in annual PV installation rates to up to 22 gigawatts in the near future. In 2023, the installed capacity reached over 14 GW, demonstrating steady progress toward this ambitious objective. Additionally, for the first time, more than half of Germany's electricity in 2023 was sourced from renewable energies, including solar and wind power. I just came across this study from 2017 indicating that 139 countries could generate 100 percent renewable electricity by 2050. a. It would be interesting to know how many are on track for the 2030 estimates - 80% renewable electricity b. Solar, wind and energy storage costs have plummeted since 2017. In a significant step towards supporting Australia’s energy transition, the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission project has received planning approval.   As a result, construction of around 240 kilometres of poles and wires and associated infrastructure in regional NSW, can now commence and is set to begin initial operation in 2028.   The Central-West Orana REZ aims to host at least 4.5 gigawatts of electricity, equivalent to powering 1.8 million homes while driving up to $20 billion in private investment in solar, wind, and energy storage projects and supporting up to 5,000 jobs during peak construction.    #renewableenergy #solar #renewableenergy #renewableenergyinvestments #investmentopportunities #REZ #renewableenergyzone #InvestRegionalNSW

Two high-capacity factor renewable power plants, Eland Solar 2 and Skeleton Creek, are in development. Eland Solar, developed by Arevon Energy, secured $1.2 billion in financing for the construction of its second phase, Eland 2, in California. This phase includes a 200 MWac/374 MWdc solar power facility paired with a 150 MW / 600 MWh energy storage system. According to Bloomberg, the U.S. has added 42 gigawatts of renewable power-generating capacity to the grid over the last year and a half, which has largely been driven by a strong focus on solar energy.
