When I'm trying to explain HR to people who either think * we process payroll and benefits * we are all recruiters * we 'hire and fire' people It makes me wish there was a portion of every person's work education, beginning from onboarding, to outline what HR truly does. Because we are the People people and how else would every employee know what and why we are here if we don't explain the vastness and magnitude of the practice. We are the only function that isn't properly broken out into sub functions....unless you're in an organization large enough to have that. I created this handy dandy graphic to bring awareness and understanding to the layman.
