From a casual conversation at an airport to becoming one of Europe’s largest and most active angel investor networks of 650+ members, FiBAN’s year 2024 was built on collaboration, ambition, and impact. In 2024 alone, we received over 1,000 startup applications, organized 60+ networking events, and nearly 90 new angel investors joined our growing community. Key Highlights To Expect in 2025: 🔷 15th Anniversary Gala: Join us on March 7th in Helsinki for an inspiring celebration. Which means that we are starting to find the right way to pitch our rather complicated deep tech solution. 🧑💻 Just wait until we have our visual platform ready for demoing, making it even easier to grasp the advantages of our approach. 💡 Overall, the event confirmed that we are doing the right things also from the investor perspective!

Over the weekend I participated in my first-ever hackathon! CatalystX is a 36 hour hackathon organised by NUS Entrepreneurship Society, NCS Group, and Singtel. As part of this hackathon, I had the privilege of collaborating with Alisha Wadkar, Kritika Seth, and Roman Yanushevskyi. Together, we built EcoInvest—an AI-driven sustainable trading platform designed to democratise investing for retail investors, especially for beginners. EcoInvest leverages NLP-powered interfaces, allowing users to articulate their investment goals in natural language. EcoInvest translates these inputs into personalised stock recommendations and investment strategies, based on ESG metrics, historical performances, and real-time market data. Key Features of EcoInvest: 📈 ESG insights: Explore interactive charts detailing the environmental impact of your investments. 💹 Portfolio tracking: Monitor your contributions to CO2 reduction and waste minimisation. 🏆Tier-based scoring: Monitor your progress towards sustainability goals with a transparent, tiered system. 🎁Reward management: Earn vouchers and incentives for making eco-conscious investment choices. Being my first hackathon, it was an incredible learning experience. I gained valuable insights into rapid prototyping, collaborative teamwork, and pitching ideas under time pressure. I also learned how to apply data science techniques and business strategy to solve real-world problems in innovative ways.
