#mondaythoughts #mondaymomentum 😂 Fundamentally, I agree🎤 In my experience collaborating with hiring managers over the years, expediency is a priority for their teams. Decisions are typically swift once the few candidates advance to the final stages. However, factors contribute to the length of the entire hiring process once you are selected from resume reviews: 📈 A high volume of applicants in a fiercely competitive job market with potential internal candidates (if it's filled internally, we often open up a backfill) 🔎 Rescoping of roles: occasionally, roles undergo adjustments due to evolving organizational needs or recalibration of position scope 🌟 Rounds of Interviews: 90% of our roles typically involve initial recruiter screenings before interviewing with hiring managers and then comprehensive evaluation loops. ⏳Scheduling/rescheduling: Coordinating interviews across global time zones and accommodating the availability of international stakeholders and candidates (whether with human or AI scheduling them) 🔖 Prioritizing urgent business initiatives: The urgency of all hands being on deck for critical product launches, feature enhancements, or campaign rollouts may momentarily divert attention from the hiring process, causing intermittent delays. 📌 Debriefs and offer conversations ❌ Declines that lead us to consider other finalists that performed well #behindthescenes #interviewing #jobseekers

Let me start by celebrating the fact that the Yankees have made the World Series for the first time in 15 years! (Sorry to Mets’ fans and those who follow other teams.) Considering the recent playoffs, it dawned on me how powerful it is for firms (just like teams) to publicize their wins. One firm, Raymond James, has been doing an excellent job of this—proactively broadcasting their impressive wins more often than before. And it made me realize that while humility is valuable, sometimes it’s absolutely OK, and even important, to celebrate your successes. When firms share their wins, it accomplishes a few key things: It positions you as a destination of choice. By showcasing growth, successful transitions, or milestones, you’re telling the industry and prospective advisors that your firm is a place where people thrive. It lets prospects see themselves in your success stories. When advisors hear about your wins, they can envision themselves as part of that success, knowing there’s a proven track record of helping others achieve their goals. It sets the narrative that your firm is winning. In a competitive space, being vocal about your accomplishments builds momentum, inspires confidence, and reinforces that your firm is moving in the right direction. While there’s always a place for humility, celebrating your wins can be just as powerful. It’s a way to inspire others, attract top talent, and keep the momentum going. (And Let's Go Yanks!)
