Making hiring faster, fairer, and safer // Tackling Hiring Fraud // Transforming the labour market

Going into the Parliamentary session in May on “Hiring for the new generation” I genuinely didn’t realise the extent of the problems It was sobering to hear how young people perceive #hiring. 👉”Fundamentally broken” 👉”The selection process is a rejection process” 👉”No feedback so we don’t know what we’re getting wrong” In Parliament in May young people, business, and politicians came together to discuss the challenges facing young people today. As Chair of the Better Hiring Institute (BHI) I am delighted to announce the launch of the resultant guide for business. The free-to-use guide (link in comments) covers a range of changes that could be implemented to make hiring better for our next generation. This isn’t about new tech platforms or bespoke solutions, this is about hardwiring youth-friendly approaches into mainstream hiring. This is something we can all do. A big thank you to our speakers and project partners: Bright Network, Lancaster University Management School, Reed Screening, Cecile Bonnet, and Margaret Heffernan #humanresources #careers

Keith Rosser This is a great piece of research and useful guide. Why limit it to just the new generation? I hear from people at all stages in their career say the same thing - Application goes in to a void - if they get an interview, sometimes there's a lack of clarity on the process - no feedback on the outcome - manual / paper based / disconnected process for onboarding Tech is not the answer. It is a facilitator that takes the manual effort out of scale activities.

Let's hope that the online recruitment sites (which includes LinkedIn) pay attention to the immense harm they have been creating....
