#InspireInclusion – I’m glad that we have so many talented #WomenatBilfinger. The perspectives and approaches of women not only enrich our #TeamBilfinger, but also show that the future of our organization as well as our product portfolio will be shaped by diverse talents. On this #InternationalWomensDay, I'd like to share with you some insights into Bilfinger's efforts to increase the number of women in the workforce: - We create a modern work environment for employees in different life situations by offering flexible working hours and hybrid work models. - When a position is being filled, there should generally be at least one female candidate on the shortlist. - The proportion of women in management positions is expected to reach 20 to 25 percent (depending on the management level) by the end of 2026. A balanced representation of women not only enriches our corporate culture, but also contributes significantly to Bilfinger's success. I’d particularly like to thank our female colleagues today for their commitment and dedication.

Great insights and data from our friends at INTERTANKO in their Seafarers’ Survey. 👉 On investing in the future: Young seafarers prioritise professional development and mentorship onboard. 👉 On diversity and inclusion: 40% of seafarers report being affected by cultural differences, and an alarming 44% of women in the survey reported gender-based harassment. The Intertanko survey highlights areas where we must improve as an industry. We believe that taking an end-to-end, people-first, approach to recruitment and development is key to delivering a better future for all maritime professionals. Empowering women in shipping goes beyond ‘womanning’ the ships; it’s about ethics and purpose, steering towards a future where respect, innovation, equality, and inclusion thrive together. Effective communication has played a pivotal role in this transformation, amplifying voices and driving change. On 2 December 1974, women brokers from Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK gathered for a Christmas lunch at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in London. This modest meeting sparked a movement that would reshape the maritime industry. By 1984, their group had evolved into the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA International ) a global force dedicated to advancing women in maritime. In 2024, as we celebrate 50 years of WISTA, we honor this legacy of progress and inclusion, underscoring the vital role of strategic communication. This journey from a simple lunch to a worldwide network demonstrates the power of shared stories and advocacy in fostering equality. At Purpose Communications, we recognize the transformative power of communication in driving social change. By sharing these stories and amplifying these voices, we contribute to a more inclusive and equitable maritime industry. Join us in celebrating this milestone and continuing the journey towards progress and equality. #WISTA50 #WomenInMaritime #Empowerment #WISTAInternational #MaritimeEquality #womenempowerment #maritimepr

As we gear up for March, a time dedicated to honouring the achievements and contributions of women worldwide, we at @StelnoGroup want to shine a spotlight on the incredible women who are an integral part of our industry in Australia. Did you know? The freight forwarding industry in Australia employs over 640,000 people across major sub-sectors such as road transport, logistics, warehousing, and stevedoring. Despite this, the gender distribution stands at 21% female and 79% male. It's clear that women are a minority in this field, but their impact is undeniable. From managing logistics and navigating complex supply chains to ensuring seamless transportation of goods across borders, these women are the backbone of our success. Their dedication, expertise, and resilience inspire us every day. Join us in honouring and recognising the invaluable contributions of these trailblazing women in freight forwarding. Let's continue to support and empower them as they shape the future of our industry! 💪🌏 #WomenInFreightForwarding #InternationalWomensMonth #AustraliaLogistics #stelnogroup #logisticservices #supplychain

"Talking the talk on diversity and inclusion is good, but walking the walk will bring better rewards." Said perfectly by Elpi Petraki, President WISTA International, as she highlights the need for concrete actions to improve conditions for women in the shipping industry. Simple measures, such as ensuring that bathrooms for women are conveniently located near their work areas in ports and on ships or providing sanitary products on vessels, can make a significant difference. Ultimately, it's about promoting the widespread adoption of policies and training that enhance understanding of the benefits and importance of DEI. By taking steps, no matter how small they may seem, will steer the shipping industry towards more meaningful progress toward inclusivity. #shippingindustry #DEIinshipping #genderequality

Looking back: The maritime industry has traditionally been male dominated! STOP looking back 👀 🔙 Today there are challenges related to the working environment, attitudes, harassment, adaptation of equipment, the practical design of the workplace, working conditions and terms of employment may represent obstacles to female participation in the industry. Some of these challenges are perceived as being more significant at sea than in onshore part of the maritime sector ‼ 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 🔵 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲❗ ❓ The words diversity, equality and inclusion is written and talked about all over the place! In Norway several companies have signed the #40by30 pledge which WISTA Norway launched March 8th in 2022. The companies have committed to create specific goals to increase diversity and to strive towards 40% women in leading positions by 2023. In two months time two years have passed and I would love to know what some of these companies have done. You can rely on the company you are working for or you can take charge yourself. What have you done in these two years as an individual for your own career? The present is the only thing we are certain of, however you can influence and shape the future according to what you want, if you take charge. Focus on what you want, focus on growth and set clear and realistic goals. Break them smaller and establish manageable steps and make sure to celebrate your success along the way. Establish leadership values to support your strategy and making decisions. Remember to be open to new experiences and opportunities as they may lead you to a better place. Always stay focused and if you practice gratitude it may help you to influence and be even more optimistic about the future. If you want to embrace the future with confidence and enthusiasm take charge and let me know if you want some support with that. 1️⃣ Reflect 2️⃣ Reset 3️⃣ Create #sustainableleadership #growingtogether #bettertogether #coaching #sparringpartner #shipping #maritimeindustry 📷 Lumiere Studio
