Listen to this podcast to learn more about our methods of teaching from our very own Head of Teaching and Learning, J Camp. #NEIA #Innovation #SchoolOfTheFuture
Author—“Shifting: How School Leaders Can Create a Culture of Change” / “Getting Unstuck” podcast host / Leadership coach
ONE OF THE THINGS I LOVE about the New England Innovation Academy is its philosophy of teaching and learning. It's not about completing courses or scoring on high-stakes assessments; it's about students learning how to think critically and problem-solve—you know, the competencies they will need to demonstrate in life. In this episode, I'm joined by NEIA's head of Teaching and Learning, John Camp. If you're a parent, an educator, or a citizen concerned with the goals of today's K-12 education system, you'll want to listen in. Schools can shift away from the 100+-year-old model of schooling, and NEIA is proving it. https://bit.ly/3uYfpcI Danelle Almaraz Mac Bogert Tom Vander Ark Hope Blecher, Ed.D. 🔆 Steven Miletto Maureen O'Shaughnessy, EdD Donya Ball, Ed.D. I'm not here to fix it or you. I'm here to teach and model the skills, tools, and language that will help you navigate it all well. Sticky notes and permission slips can only mean it's full training time! Honored to be doing three more cohorts with Special School District of St. Louis County this spring. Here we go!

And THIS is what the teaching professional can/should do. This work is a craft. Speaking to reading specifically: WE MUST understand it deeply if we are to teach it successfully. Hone your craft like this teacher did.
If every teacher knew their content like this, we probably wouldn’t be up the creek regarding quality education in the United States. Here’s to learning and mastering your craft!

1moThis is such a powerful program! It really is thought provoking and provides a much deeper perspective on developing a culture of high expectations and reciprocal respect. When I was a principal, this was a phenomenal training for me and my staff to go through together and really reframed our thinking. Our perception survey data significantly improved for staff and students!
