United Nations' International Youth Day 2024: From Clicks to Progress As we celebrate International Youth Day, we honor the incredible potential of youth in leading the charge towards a more inclusive, sustainable future. This year’s theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,” resonates deeply with our mission to empower the next generation of leaders. Through their innovation, passion, and commitment to DEI, our young leaders are challenging the status quo in our communities. At the Regional Diversity Roundtable (RDR), we believe in the transformative power of youth to drive sustainable change through digital innovation and leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). We advocate for DEI by creating opportunities and equipping young people with the capacity and leadership skills to leverage technologies for social impact. Together, we’re building a future where every click counts toward a world that is just, equitable, and inclusive for all. #InternationalYouthDay #YouthForDEI #DigitalProgress #RDRPeel

Award winning Social Enterprise CEO | Podcast Host Big Careers, Small Children | Gender Pay Gap | Maternity | Paternity
Something to think about for the upcoming International Women's Day... Why is the award-winning Leaders Plus Fellowship not just for mothers? 👉 https://lnkd.in/eMp3c_9H The post below by Platform55 sums it up perfectly. When we place all of the responsibility on women and mothers to be 'better' in order to overcome the seemingly insurmountable challenges they face in the workplace around progression to senior roles then we make it a 'women's issue'. It is not. It is a Social Justice Issue, which means one we are all responsible for. That is why the Leaders Plus Fellowship is open to ALL genders and ALL family situations. But allyship is only one of the reasons. We know that fathers' progression is also impacted when they proactively address their work life balance to be more present for their family. For instance, a father's flexible working request is twice as likely to be turned down than a mother's. We're in this together. Applications for the Fellowship close soon on 20 March. Apply today: https://lnkd.in/eU4yH5yk #gpg #allyship #workingmothers #workingfathers #workingparents #genderequality #professionaldevelopment #IWD2024

As we near the culmination of Women's History Month, let's turn our attention to a vital aspect of our celebration: inspiring the next generation of women leaders. In this final week, let's reaffirm our commitment to nurturing and empowering young minds, equipping them with the tools, support, and encouragement they need to rise to their fullest potential. Mentorship is a powerful tool for fostering leadership skills and confidence in young women. By offering guidance, sharing experiences, and serving as role models, mentors can help shape the trajectory of a young person's life, instilling in them the belief that their voice matters and that they are capable of effecting meaningful change. Supportive communities play a crucial role in empowering aspiring leaders. By creating spaces where young women feel valued, heard, and supported, we can cultivate a sense of belonging and inspire them to pursue their passions with courage and conviction. Encouragement is key to unlocking the boundless potential within every young woman. By offering words of encouragement, celebrating their achievements, and affirming their worth, we can fuel their confidence and inspire them to dream big, break barriers, and chart their own paths forward. Together, let's commit to creating a world where every young woman feels empowered to step into leadership roles, where their voices are heard and their contributions are valued. Let's foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and equality where all individuals have the opportunity to thrive and make their mark on the world. As we reflect on the remarkable achievements of women throughout history, let's look to the future with hope and optimism, knowing that the next generation of women leaders is waiting in the wings, ready to soar. 🎊Yesterday was UN International Youth Day, but shouldn’t we celebrate the youth every day? 😁 Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development 🌍 Did you know that half of the people on our planet are 30 or younger, expected to grow to 57% by the end of 2030 (Be Seen Be Heard Global Youth Campaign)? Nutrition Garden Project Lead Youth Food Champion| Empowering Women & Youth in Sustainable Agri-Food Systems | Food Security | Climate Action | Education | Zero Food Waste | Agriculture Innovation
As I look back on the Youth Adaptation Forum's virtual event last March, I'm filled with a sense of inspiration and empowerment that has stayed with me. Attending that program and hearing the stories of the remarkable young women leaders who shared their insights was a truly transformative experience. The courage, creativity, and dedication displayed by the speakers left a deep impression. Learning about the obstacles they've overcome, and the innovative ways they're driving progress in their communities, was incredibly eye-opening. Their passion for making a difference was palpable, and it reignited my own drive to be a more impactful leader. As a delegate, I was honored to participate in the Youth Adaptation Forum, a series of events offered by the United Nations that empowers young leaders to address climate resilience and adaptation strategies in their communities. The forum provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration. I'm grateful to have been a part of it and look forward to the final event tomorrow! Here are some key takeaways that have stuck with me: 1. The power of community and networking: Connecting with other young women leaders reinforced the importance of building strong relationships and supporting one another. 2. Embracing creativity and innovation: The speakers' stories showcased the impact of thinking outside the box and finding novel solutions to complex problems. 3. Resilience and perseverance: Hearing about the obstacles overcome by the speakers was a powerful reminder that challenges are opportunities for growth. 4. The need for inclusive leadership: The event emphasized the importance of amplifying marginalized voices and promoting diversity in leadership. Beyond the informative panel discussions, what resonated most with me was the shared sense of camaraderie and support. Connecting with other young women who are navigating similar challenges reinforced the importance of building strong networks and lifting each other up. I left the event feeling rejuvenated, with a renewed commitment to mentoring the next generation and collaborating across sectors to amplify our collective voice. Thank you Siphilisiwe Ndlovu, M.A. You made me your eyes and ears for Training Women of Excellence. #Youth4Adaptation #ClimateResilience #WomenLeadership #WomenEmpowerment #TrainingWomenofExcellence
