We're not here to do SDG-washing. (yes, that’s a thing!) 🟢 🧺 Sustainability isn't just a buzzword for us- it's the driving force behind everything we do. That's why the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are more than just a marketing tactic for us - they're a roadmap for how we do business. We're genuinely concerned about the world we're leaving behind, and we're laser-focused on making a positive difference in each of these areas: 🍽️ Zero hunger: Microalgae are packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals, and with our fermentation technology, we can produce this nutrient powerhouse anywhere in the world. ♻️Responsible consumption & production: Our cultivation method requires minimal land, water, and energy, all while producing a high-yield crop. It minimizes waste and reduces the carbon footprint linked with traditional agriculture. 🌿Climate action: Microalgae are nature's tiny powerhouses, efficiently absorbing CO2 during growth. Our fermentation process is a climate-positive way to produce protein while mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. 🌎Life on land: Unlike traditional agriculture and livestock farming, we need way less land. This means less pressure on precious ecosystems and more space for nature to thrive. Read more about our values👉 brevel.co.il/about #Food #Sustainableprotein #SDGs #Climateaction #Zerohunger

When it comes to #agrifood value chains, integrating #sustainability into business plans is a strategic imperative that cannot be ignored. Going beyond carbon and acting on nature loss is key. Focusing on #nature doesn’t just ensure the integrity of a sustainability strategy; it’s also a way of protecting businesses against significant physical, regulatory and financial risks. By following guidance from frameworks like ACT-D and TNFD, businesses can systematically assess and integrate #naturepositive actions into their strategic planning, translating corporate ambitions into actionable insights at the landscape level. Proactive nature management enables agri-food companies to navigate the evolving policy landscape, identify critical actions to mitigate negative impacts and unlock new markets and opportunities for revenue and margin growth. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e_3_4CxZ #WBCSDRoadmaps Matt Inbusch

As sustainability has been a leading innovation driver in agriculture for the last ~5 years, I often wonder if we've made an impact yet? The EPA just released its Inventory of U.S. GHG Emissions & Sinks that ag reduced 1.8% of its GHG emissions from 2021 to 2022, accounting for 10% of national emissions in 2022. 1.8% is the most significant decline of all industries YOY (about 12M metric tons). Recognizing that this is data from one year and highly subject to crop selection & volumes, it's an encouraging number for those of us working day to day on sustainability in ag. I'm curious for your perspectives - is this progress or noise? https://lnkd.in/gBn-uBJS #sustainableag #GHGemissions

Why are CFOs suddenly thinking about soil? 🌱 Because the SEC climate rules are no joke, and carbon commitments just got real. As regulations tighten and the SEC climate rule looms, companies are under pressure to turn ambitious carbon commitments into actionable results. With sustainability moving from a 'nice-to-have' to a 'must-have,' many are looking to regenerative agriculture for answers. This nature-based solution focuses on soil health and promises to significantly reduce emissions—especially for agri-food supply chains. Early adopters like General Mills and Nestlé are investing in regenerative agriculture to cut emissions and restore soil health. It's not just about growing crops—it's about growing sustainability! 🌍 For CFOs, this is a major play to tackle Scope 3 emissions and future-proof supply chains. The question isn't just can we afford this, but can we afford not to? 🌍 #RegenerativeAgriculture #Sustainability #ESG #CarbonReduction https://lnkd.in/dGsz2NcV

Bringing people together to transform the future of Sustainable Ag. Head of Sustainability & Strategic Engagement at Bayer Crop Science
Our team is proud to present the new #Bayer Sustainability Report for 2023. Bayer | Crop Science is championing climate resilient practices across some key arenas. 🌽 Food Security: We've made significant strides in breeding advancements which have enabled us to feed a larger population while conserving arable land. With the global population on the rise, expected to reach >9 billion by 2050, it's crucial to ensure a robust food system that can provide nourishing food for all. Our downstream partnership approach aims to encourage farmers, food processors, and traders to collaborate for sustainable and resilient food systems. 🧑🌾 Smallholder Farmers: Our goal is to support 100 million smallholder farmers in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs) by 2030. We're achieving this through climate-resilient seeds, comprehensive trainings, and strategic partnerships. We believe in empowering farmers with the necessary resources to adopt sustainable agricultural practices. 🌾 Transforming Cropping Systems: Rice is one of the most important staple crops in the world. Transitioning from traditional rice cultivation to direct seeded rice has resulted in up to 40% reduction in water usage and up to 45% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. I encourage you all to read the report to understand better how we're collaborating to address some of the world's most critical challenges. Here's the link:
