Onyx is proud to announce that our CEO, Mary Beth Mandanas, was voted onto the Board of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. at last week's Annual Meeting. As the leading business organization in New York, the NY Business Council serves as an advocate for its more than 3,000 member companies to stimulate economic growth and create a healthy business climate across the Empire State. The clean energy industry is an engine for the economic growth that the Business Council strives to create, with the solar industry alone contributing to over $60 billion of private investment in the American economy last year (https://lnkd.in/dNre_Vrr). Onyx believes that through education and expanding the green economy in our home state and beyond, we can not only create new jobs, but unlock economic savings for businesses and build a cleaner, more sustainable tomorrow for future generations. Speed to market is essential to economic development success. Keep up the great work.
A lot of communities make the claim, but the Johnston County NC - Economic Development office is known for its pro-business climate. Our "Green Tape and Not Red Tape" philosophy has been a major asset driving economic growth in our community. The morning Southern Economic Development Council continues with a session that explores effective economic development incentives, pro-growth policies, and enabling legislation that communities are using to attract projects and create jobs. These expert panelists provided real-world examples and insights to better craft JoCo strategies that will continue to stimulate our economic growth. Those are: Blair Westmoreland, Chris Lloyd, David Denison, and Gray Swoope. Discussion moderated by Will Johnson from Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A.
