Did you know Americans dispose of more than 300 million pairs of shoes annually per the U.S. Department of the Interior? Unfortunately, these shoes end up in landfills and can take 30 to 40 years to decompose. Shockingly, the number of children worldwide who have never owned a pair of shoes is also 300 million, according to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). This eye-opening statistic is one of the primary benchmarks USAID uses to indicate "abject poverty," the most extreme poverty level on their scale. During Earth Month, Reldan organized a shoe drive to support Soles4Souls, an international non-profit that works hard to divert usable shoes from landfills and distribute them to people in need. Together, we collected and donated over 100 pairs of shoes that would otherwise have ended up in a landfill. Not just doing something positive for the environment but also aiding less fortunate people. #reldan #intelligentrefining #reldancares #earthmonth #sustainability
