At TZ-1, a sample measuring 678 ppm U, 679 ppm Th, and 449 ppm Mo from a quartz-rich pegmatitic granitic gneiss boulder was identified. TZ-1 lies in the West Central magnetic domain and is characterized by weak to medium DPRs and SPRs. DPR profiles indicate it dips to the east along a 500-600 m strike length. The TZ sits within a magnetic high but a tilt angle low, indicating that it may follow some structure. The southern end of TZ-1 trends along an interpreted major NW-SE fault. At TZ-2, a sample grading 187 ppm U, 449 ppm Th from pegmatitic quartz-rich zones was identified in a granite gneiss outcrop. TZ-2 consists of a cluster of Medium to Strong SPRs. Although it is on a magnetic and tilt angle high, TZ-2 trends along an interpreted fault and is adjacent to a major structural feature. TZ-2 is in the West Central magnetic domain. Gold Mountain Limited (ASX:GMN) executive director David Evans sits with Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss initial findings from its Down Under REE Project in Brazil. The company has received results from 260 stream sediment samples and conducted 85 kilometres of detailed geophysical radiometric surveys. Assays indicate widespread anomalies across an 80 square kilometre area and suggest the potential for ultra-high-grade hard rock monazite-hosted REE-niobium-uranium-scandium mineralisation. Extensive #REE anomalous catchments have been identified, forming highly anomalous areas up to 8 kilometres in length. Radiometric surveys revealed thorium anomalies up to 1,600 metres wide. In total, 44 spectrometer radiometric traverse lines were conducted, inferring potential areas of significant mineralisation from the geochemical results and radiometric traversing. Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL) managing director Chris Oorschot joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss confirmation of the presence of multiple high-grade mineralised structures at the Quarter Moon Prospect, part of the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia. Results from the first three diamond drill holes reveal up to nine parallel, narrow high-grade #gold structures extending along 800 metres of strike, with mineralisation open along strike and at depth. Significant intercepts include 2.8 metres at 5.9 g/t gold from 105 metres, 2.9 metres at 2.1 g/t from 144 metres and 1 metre at 6.4 g/t from 169 metres. These findings build on reverse circulation (RC) results from July, such as 6 metres at 4.2 g/t gold from 90 metres. The high-grade gold is hosted in narrow shear zones within a dolerite unit, which is a key host rock for mineralisation in the Yandal Greenstone Belt. "Model where ore-forming fluid for orogenic gold may be produced from metamorphism of top of lower underthrusted plate, rather than from heating of rocks in the accretionary prism and accreted terranes that were accreted onto an upper plate. Below about 50 km, any devolatilization can lead to melting of the mantle wedge and arc plutons. Between about 20 and 50 km depth, lower temperature aqueous-carbonic fluids can be channeled along the plate interface until deep crustal faults, commonly terrane sutures, intersect the base of the upper plate and move upward during seismic events to form orogenic gold deposits. Further seaward, compaction-related release of H2O-CH4 pore waters in the accretionary prism and from sediments on the downgoing plate, as well as initial petroleum migration from burial metamorphism, can form shallow Hg-rich deposits (with Sb and perhaps Au)."
