The media's hyping our athletes can be overwhelming them, the pressure to perform seems to tense them up, leading to crucial moments of bottlenecks. Also their lacking in focus and consistency at crucial moments have got most of them eliminated. Is there some distraction ? If we aim to host the Olympics, we first have to build a solid sports ecosystem, like Odisha's model, providing adequate resources and fostering a culture of excellence. Mental conditioning should be a priority. We need consistent results. Both failed miserably because their visions were never operationalized till the grassroots level.
