Support Our Veterans, Safeguard Our Schools In a world where the safety of our children is paramount, there is a unique way you can make a difference. By donating to our initiative, you not only provide a crucial layer of security to our schools but also offer a meaningful opportunity to our military veterans. These brave men and women, who have already given so much to protect our country, are ready to serve again—this time, closer to home. Why Veterans? Our veterans possess unparalleled skills and a profound sense of duty. Their training and experience in high-pressure situations make them ideally suited to safeguard our schools. By positioning veterans as school guards, we ensure a secure environment for our children and empower these heroes with a purpose-driven role in our communities. The Impact of Your Donation Every contribution you make goes directly towards employing veterans as school guards. Your donation helps cover salaries, training, and equipment necessary for them to protect our schools effectively. More importantly, it supports veterans in finding stable, respected employment as they transition back into civilian life. A Dual Benefit This initiative is more than just enhancing school safety; it's about community building. Veterans bring with them a wealth of experience and a strong moral compass. Their presence in schools can inspire students, foster a sense of respect and discipline, and create a nurturing environment. By donating, you are investing in both the safety and the moral fabric of our future generations. How You Can Help - Donate Today: Every dollar counts. Your generosity can help provide employment for veterans and ensure our schools remain safe havens for learning. - Spread the Word: Share our mission with friends, family, and colleagues. The more people know about our cause, the greater impact we can make together. - Get Involved: If you're passionate about this cause, consider volunteering or organizing fundraising events. Your involvement can amplify our reach and effectiveness. Our veterans have always stood ready to protect us. Now, we have the chance to stand by them while ensuring the safety of our schools. Join us in this noble cause. Your support can make all the difference. Donate Now and Be a Part of This Life-Changing Mission! For every child’s safety and every veteran’s honor, thank you. --- Together, we can build a safer, stronger community. https://lnkd.in/eD4t558F

“After a mass shooting, your community will become a circus of media, well-wishers, gun violence prevention groups, those wanting TV exposure to promote their own organization for fundraising opportunities, self described “experts” also wanting media attention, and inappropriate calls for museum archiving for temporary memorials before family members are even buried. You will also be inundated with calls from from community non profits from other mass shootings offering their “help”. Depending on the nonprofit, what they tell you may result in the retraumatization and revictimization of those suffering most.” Visit VictimsFirst.org to learn best practices.

Surveillance culture is real. Surveillance can be great for safety and security - keeping track of our children: 1 in 10 UK families now uses the location-tracking app Life360. However, there is a more dangerous side to surveillance - especially when it's non-consensual. Charity Refuge reports a rise in tech abuse, and also that most victims of tech abuse experience other forms of abuse. If you're concerned about being tracked, many shops, libraries and banks now have Safe Spaces where you can find information about all kinds of abuse, and can make phone calls and get advice - know where your nearest ones are: https://lnkd.in/dnMyBRb . . #safespaces #domesticabuse #techabuse #surveillance #trackingsoftware #electronictracking #surveillanceculture #abuse #youarenotalone #noexcuseforabuse

It seems that Sports Grounds and Charity Shops are the flavour of the month for the criminals! Is it because they are known to hold cash on site? *It's mostly lower-end sports facilities, not the high-end clubs as they are usually cashless. I'd be very intrigued to learn whether these premises are/were remotely monitored. They likely were/are. But. It's more about prevention as opposed to reaction. CCTV, Speakers, Guard Response can all help. I'm not saying monitored alarms with police response aren't enough. But. It's always good to look at the potential additional layers. https://lnkd.in/eepNKQTe

Supporting a Local Business in Hard Times I recently heard a story from Israel that shows how communities can come together to help small businesses during difficult times. A man named Raphael owns a popular coffee shop in Jerusalem called Cappuccino. Raphael was called up to serve in the reserves. He had to leave his coffee shop behind for the time being. Raphael's friends all volunteered to run Cappuccino while he was gone. As one friend put it, "Raphael fights to protect us, so we will fight for his business." They want the coffee shop to survive so he has a business to come back to. To me, this story shows the importance of supporting local businesses, especially during crises beyond their control. Small businesses give flavor to our communities. When owners or key staff get called up for military duty, remaining open can be a daily struggle. As customers, our small purchases make a big difference in helping these businesses stay afloat. Getting takeout, hiring local services, buying gift cards these simple acts help local shops endure tough times. I'm personally making an effort to choose small, community businesses first during this conflict. If Raphael's story inspires you, look around for a local business in your community that you can support. It takes all of us working together to uplift each other in hard times #SupportSmallBusiness #ShopLocal #SmallBusinessCommunity #ShopSmall #SmallBiz #ThinkLocalFirst #LocallyOwned #GoLocal #NeighborhoodGem #CommunityOverCorporations #KeepCommerceLocal #LocalLove #EatLocal #DineLocal #BuyLocal #MadeInOurTown #MadeInOurCity #WeAreOpen #StrongerTogether #ResilientCommunities #StandWithSmallBiz
