Digital Marketing Manager for Startups | Empowering Startups in their Digital Marketing | Creative Strategy for B2B and D2C Brands
A phrase that a mentor used to say to me was "show me your friends and I'll show you your future" As I've moved through my career, relationships, and mentors, this wisdom has always stuck with me and guided my decisions as I grew my network and close circle. I want to collect people who I want to turn out like. People who inspire me, push me, and lead with humility and curiosity. It's one of the reasons I love working with startups and entrepreneurs so much. Entrepreneurs that aspire to make a difference and lead with a learning approach are some of my favorite people to collect. One of those special people in my life is Rachel L.. When I met Rachel over six years ago now, I knew she was someone I wanted to keep in my circle, someone who led with creativity, hope, and vision for a future that was different from the now. The way she chooses to value and honor those in her life is truly inspiring. So when Rachel asked me to join her as she embarked on a mission to connect Native Artists with Native art appreciators through Artisans of Nations, I didn't question it. Now, as we are in the midst of launching a brand new platform curated for sharing the stories of incredible Native artisans, their histories, and their cultures, I am beyond honored to play a small role in marketing these Native artists incredible work. If you're interested in learning more about our mission, vision, and how we are supporting Native art education programs, please consider following us here or on our page! More to come! https://lnkd.in/gc-RuQi5 *Apologies to whoever actually is responsible for that quote 😆 #Nativeartists #supportNativeart #artisansofnations #publication
Artisans of Nations was recognized for their award-winning presentation at our pitch competition in June. We're excited to commemorate their official launch with the release of their new coffee table print publication. The premium publication honors cultural traditions, elevates narratives, and fosters a community that values and promotes the craftwork of Native artists. Most human rights complaints (50 to 60%) are and have been grounded in disability discrimination ... and yet govts and human rights commissions do little to nothing about disability discrimination (despite signing the CRPD under Harper and the Liberals, NDP and other pretending to support it)... its been painfully obvious that govt has been recruiting race based complaints to bolster their unsupported decisions to prioritize campaigns against racisms while ignoring discrimination based on disability. and here we have another campaign to address a relatively uncommon form of discrimination relative to how frequently the disabled face discrimination.
PICS-Anti-Racism program will be hosting an “Anti-Racism Art Exhibition” to create a dialogue on Anti-Racism Awareness in the community and online as well. The exhibition will be held on Thursday, 21 March 2024 (The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination) at The Surrey City Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information: saumya.mathur@pics.bc.ca or call at 604-596-7722 Ext: 142

🇪🇺 On the occasion of the Creative Europe programme’s 10-year anniversary and the start to the European elections, we take this opportunity to emphasise the important role culture plays in Europe and how the Creative Europe programme supports and nurtures European diversity, creativity and competitiveness. 🎥 We had the pleasure of an exclusive interview at the Palais Garnier with Judith Videcoq, Head of Unit of Creative Europe, Directorate General of Education, Youth, Sports, and Culture of the European Commission. 🤝 Judith shared with us the impact that the European Commission has been able to achieve over the last decade, funding over 2500 cultural projects with €2.5 billion, as well as their outlook on supporting emerging artists and cultural projects in the future. 🎭🩰 Since 2017, the FEDORA Platform has been one of the beneficiaries of the Creative Europe programme as the European reference showcase of emerging talents’ innovations in opera and dance, scaling up our activities and impact. 👇 Learn more about the shared values between the European Commission and FEDORA and their joint support of the next generation of artists: https://loom.ly/NoCsxVg “We spoke about the mission of the programme, working to preserve our heritage. But more importantly, we are working for our future. Culture is our common DNA, to use our heritage and give it fresh expressions and a new meaning is extremely important for the next generation.” - Judith Videcoq, Head of Unit of Creative Europe, DG Youth, Education, Sports & Culture of the European Commission. #FEDORAPlatform #CreativeEurope #PrivatePublicPartnership #Culture #Opera #Dance #EmergingTalent

"Consider what it could look like to develop an international approach without necessarily leaving your home country. How can artists and culture professionals better be supported to connect meaningfully with diaspora communities? How can cultural institutions learn from their peer organisations nationally and abroad that have successfully designed initiatives to identify and integrate newly arrived artists in exile?" 📢 On Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. ET, NYC's Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) will hold an online public hearing on a proposed a change to city regulations that would permanently implement the emergency rule guiding DCLA’s Cultural Development Fund (CDF). This rule would formalize the current CDF process, and codify parameters such as applicant eligibility, guidelines for the panel process, and more. 🤔 What this means: Advocates from across the NYC arts and culture sector have been demanding greater transparency and more equitable distribution of funds. The proposed amendment doesn’t adequately address these concerns. This could pose difficulties for dance workers and organizations—impacting their access to funding, job opportunities, and overall participation in New York City's cultural scene. 🧑🏾💻 What you can do: Sign up to testify at the May 10 public hearing via Zoom. Deadline to register is Friday, May 3, 2024. Written comments can be submitted via email or online form until Friday, May 10, 2024. Register at https://lnkd.in/eDReWHH7 🗣️ Let’s ensure that their new rules incorporate the recommendations from the arts and culture sector for a more transparent and equitable CDF process. To review the full text of the amendment: https://lnkd.in/eTheQVRx To review the Culture & Arts Policy Institute’s annotated version of the amendment: https://lnkd.in/eP3ErDxC
