The mental health parity final rules were announced!! ✅*Everyone* working in mental healthtech should understand how this impacts access to care✅ Today’s final rule reinforces MHPAEA’s fundamental purpose that all Americans should have the same access to mental health and substance use benefits as they do physical health benefits. The final rule will: ➡ Require health plans to make changes when they are providing inadequate access to mental health and substance use care ➡ Make it clear what health plans can and cannot do ➡ Close existing loopholes Mental health parity is one of the primary threads throughout my career and I'm eager to see the changes this facilitates. I'll write more on this in the days to come, but in the meantime check out the final rule fact sheet (link in comments) #MentalHealth #Healthcare #MentalHealthParity #Psychology #HealthTech #Clinicians

🤝 SEEKING EARLY PARTNERSHIPS!! 🤝 Mentavi Health has just released their Mental Wellness Snapshot, and I'm looking for a few organizations, communities, and individuals to help me pilot the Snapshot at scale. DM me and I'll get you a complementary preview of the Snapshot to see if you think it'd work for your teams, community, population. #mentalhealth #screeners #healthcareinnovation #clinicalvalidation #mentavihealth #thoughtleadership
🧠 The Importance of Credible Mental Health Screeners 🧠 There are thousands of mental health screeners of various types and quality available online. In today’s digital landscape, not all mental health screeners are created equal. While some tools are developed by reputable health organizations like the National Institutes of Health or American Psychiatric Association, there is no formal oversight for online screeners. A credible mental health screener goes beyond a simple questionnaire. A credible mental health screener is a clinically validated tool, backed by extensive research, that helps gauge the likelihood of an issue and motivates individuals to seek further evaluation when warranted. It’s important to remember that screeners are not diagnostic tools, but rather the first step toward understanding potential concerns. At Mentavi Health, we've introduced the Mentavi Mental Wellness Snapshot, rigorously aligning with 15 clinically validated screeners to offer accurate and insightful information. Our objective is to provide a more reliable alternative, raising the standard for first step mental health assessment. #mentalhealth #screeners #healthcareinnovation #clinicalvalidation #mentavihealth #thoughtleadership

📣 Today we publish our joint report with MHI, which reveals how Shout UK's digital service provides timely, targeted and effective #MentalHealth support for those in urgent need. Our analysis shows that Shout is addressing an unmet need. The report finds that the highest volume of Shout conversations take place between 6pm and 5am, at times when other traditional mental health services may not always be available 🕒 A key concern raised by the analysis in this report is the scale of the challenge to meet the mental health needs of people in the UK. We need a whole system approach to embrace technology and improve mental health care We must prioritise the potential of digital technology such as Shout for the health and care system. On #WorldMentalHealthDay, we are delighted to explore how #DigitalInnovation can address poor mental health https://lnkd.in/eBJhHxhT Mental Health Innovations Imperial College London

Attention digital mental health companies! 🧠 🤳 ❤️ 🤖 When I was an early advisor on the Wellcome Trust's mental health advisory board with Professor Miranda Wolpert, Carmine Pariante, Uma Vaidyanathan, Pim Cuijpers, Grace Gatera, Thomas Mrsic-Flogel, Josiah Tualamali'i - my colleague Obi Felten and I always had the same question - how could *companies* be involved? It was clear to me that academia is the best place to explore mechanisms of action for producing positive effects on mental health (and only clinician scientists can independently evaluate their efficacy at scale), but only companies have the right combination of incentives, global perspective, and operational outlook to take a putatitive intervention and make it scale. By contrast, the academic literature is full of neat ideas that have been studiously co-developed, piloted, and shuttered by the time the paper was ever published. Please join these sessions and test our hypothesis!
📢 Do you work in a Digital Mental Health company? Wellcome is launching a funding call in July 2024 for scalable digital mental health interventions. 🧠💻 Join us for an online convening where you can learn how your company can apply for funding, collaborate with academia, and shape the future of mental health innovation! Don't miss this #DigitalMentalHealth #FundingOpportunity. 🌟 At our upcoming convenings, we aim to: 1. Boost awareness about our funding process and mechanisms. 2. Answer questions and inspire more companies to apply for funding from Wellcome. 3. Give you an opportunity to ask us questions! Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn, engage, and unlock potential for your company! 🚀 🤝 #WellcomeFunding #Innovation #Opportunity We are offering two convenings to accommodate different time zones. The workshops will cover the same material so please register for the one that suits you best. Register here to secure your spot! https://lnkd.in/exbgEMBy Convening is open to companies with digital mental health products in depression, anxiety or psychosis and can be based anywhere in the world.
