🌍✨ Excited to be part of London Climate Action Week! ✨🌍 Last week, we gathered to discuss the challenges, opportunities and risks associated with climate change in an event organised by Insurtech Gateway in the Old Library at Lloyd's. It was inspiring to see such a diverse group of industry leaders, innovators, and changemakers committed to driving meaningful action. Our CEO, Ashima Gupta delivered keynote address highlighting the significant growth in Offshore wind over the next decade and the tremendous opportunity for premium growth for (re)insurers. At Renew Risk, we are proud to contribute to this global effort by providing state-of-the-art risk modelling and analytics solutions. Our goal is to support the transition to renewable energy by helping (re)insurers, investors, and developers manage the risks associated with natural disasters like Earthquakes and Hurricanes effectively. The next decade is crucial. We must harness the momentum and collaborate to achieve our ambitious targets for a sustainable future. Let's continue to innovate, collaborate, and lead the way in the global energy transition! 💡🔋🌍 Thank you Insurtech Gateway, Hannah Leonard, Richard Chattock, Robert Lumley, Stephen Brittain, Dom Nolan, Maria (Petrova) Čoko for a great event at Lloyd's. Thank you James Havard - CCRMP for attending the event in person and supporting our mission. #LondonClimateActionWeek #RenewRisk #ClimateAction #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #OffshoreWind #Innovation Joshua Macabuag FREng MICE, Gaurav Chawla, Prof Subhamoy (Suby) Bhattacharya, Aaron Bent Sayan Bhattacharyya Ingrid C.

Last March the LSFI launched its second working group on Climate Measurement and Reporting. The working group members, - defined the six key steps financial institutions need to follow to reach net zero. - analysed Climate-related tools and methodologies that the Luxembourg financial sector could use to support its journey to net-zero, namely #PCAF, #SBTI, #PACTA, #TPI, #ACT. - provided recommendations on how each of these tools and methodologies can help financial institutions and why they are relevant You are all invited to join this in person (free) event and listen to the fantastic work done by the working group members. I promise you will learn a lot if you are interested or looking for guidance in this field. In the meantime, have a look at the outcome report and get ready with questions! https://lnkd.in/eA6FQBKf #netzero #climate #targetsetting #ghgaccounting #financedemissions

"There are market integrity initiatives in place, there are good projects, there are good initiatives, like LEAF, that exist - and if we don't galvanize action now, if we don't take steps to engage, we're missing a huge opportunity. There's a risk of inaction. We need to use all of the tools at our disposal, and that includes a high integrity carbon market." Edwina McKechnie, Emergent 's Executive Vice President of Corporate Engagement, joined VCMI's Executive Director, Mark Kenber and Howden's Head of Carbon Insurance, Charlie Pool at the Climate Innovation Forum during London Climate Action Week in June, to discuss "Using market-based mechanisms to increase integrity in carbon markets". Edwina speaks to the importance of high integrity #VoluntaryCarbonMarkets to incentivise action and unlock the billions of dollars of private sector finance needed to protect and restore tropical forests and effectively meet climate goals. Climate Tech Leader I SVP @ Boundary Stone Partners I Former Director, Water Power Technologies Office at DOE I Government Funding & Innovation Program Development Expert
Exciting news out of NOAA today! The Department of Commerce and NOAA announced $3.9 million in awards to help small businesses improve climate resilience in communities across the nation by making its Phase I investment into the Ocean-based Climate Resilience Accelerators program. This investment supports 16 awardees in 11 states to develop and advance new technologies for gathering coastal, ocean and Great Lakes data and observations — essential information to build tools, products, and services that address climate resilience needs and create a climate-ready nation. These organizations will also focus on key issues like mCDR, ocean energy, ecosystem services, and more. Later this month, all Phase 1 awardees will be invited to apply to Phase 2 of the Ocean-based Climate Resilience Accelerators program, which will award up to a total of $55 million for the implementation of up to five proposed accelerators. It’s great to see organizations we’ve supported at DOE included in this cohort - including (not limited to) - Washington Maritime Blue, Seaworthy Collective, Braid Theory, SeaAhead, and more. And congratulations to the fabulous team at NOAA who pulled off the design and awarding of this, including Carl Gouldman, Zack Baize, and the team at IOOS. I’m really excited to see this historic investment into the blue economy entrepreneur ecosystem! https://lnkd.in/evcfpAS4
