MONK and MCBEND contain powerful modelling capabilities involving different forms of particle tracking through media. Both ANSWERS codes offer the Hole Geometry feature, which utilises Woodcock tracking to offer a powerful facility for modelling very complex geometries with minimum need for approximation. Hole geometry can be used to model: Complex shapes which are difficult (or impossible) to model with simple body options. Shapes and combinations more easily than with simple body options, which increases user efficiency. General Atomics' "Metrology Research and Development" team won 2024 "Team of the Year" Professional Award in the "R&D 100" global competition. The 4Pi system designed by the GA team brought multi-messenger-science to the field of fusion research, solved top-2 target metrology problems in the national Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) program, contributed significantly to the historical controlled thermonuclear fusion ignition on Dec 4, 2022 and its many repeats at the National Ignition Facility at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Last week, I had the privilege of showcasing the progress achieved by our team in the disposal systems division at the Institute of Nuclear Waste Disposal (INE-KIT) in the dynamic realm of solid-liquid interfaces. In some segments of our project, we are exploring the combination of Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) and streaming potential device technologies, a very promising endeavor we're actively advancing. This work is of great significance as it holds the potential to provide invaluable insights, especially in understanding the adsorption mechanism of ions and their interaction with surfaces.
