We were named in April, but today, on the two year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act being signed into law as the biggest climate investment in history, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officially awarded our Power Forward Communities coalition a $2 billion National Clean Investment Fund grant alongside our coalition members Habitat for Humanity International, Enterprise Community Partners, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and United Way. As part of this coalition working on single-family homes and apartments, especially in low-income and disadvantaged communities, Rewiring America will be announcing local community partnerships in the coming months. We're excited to have these resources to help shape the market, draw in private investment to this work, and for families, help make going electric easier! Read the press release here:

“Kameale C. Terry saw it coming before almost anyone else did. She realized the expanding network of electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S. would need a workforce to maintain it.” When Terry worked in customer support for a company that made software for EV charging stations, she heard countless stories from drivers running into issues while trying to charge. Those conversations sparked the idea for her company, ChargerHelp!, which connects EV charger customers to techs who can fix issues. For Terry, working in the EV space isn’t just about improving the customer experience. It’s also about improving the climate and people’s lives along with it. As a South Central Los Angeles resident, Terry has had firsthand experience with the harmful effects of air pollution throughout her life. But when car traffic thinned and smog cleared during the earliest days of the COVID-19 pandemic, she realized how much gas-powered vehicles contribute to the problem. That’s why Terry is eager to build confidence in EV infrastructure. Knowing that chargers are safe, available, and reliable is crucial to ensuring people adopt EVs en masse.
