We support International Democracy Day because democracy requires the participation of all citizens. Through this step, we can highlight the important role of parliaments, and celebrate their capacity and mandate to deliver justice, peace, development and human rights. #dayofdemocracy #rheincares #rheingroup

Today, I presented the UN WGEID annual report before the United Nations Human Rights Council, in which I highlighted the persistence practice of enforced disappearances worldwide. During the reported year, we have register 998 new cases of #enforceddisappearances. I also shed light on plight of the victims of enforced disappearances and those supporting them. It was an opportunity to share our report to African Union’s judicial and human rights organs and other subregional bodies (https://lnkd.in/d_xV69j9) and the thematic report on Enforced Disappearances and Elections (https://lnkd.in/etjtUHeA). https://lnkd.in/ea2Rg4a8

The European Union is built on solid foundations of common principles, cultural norms, and values that are crucial to its existence. The foundation of the European Union lies in the principles of the rule of law, democratic processes, and respect for human rights, reflected through institutions such as the European Parliament and the EU Council, which operate based on the will of the people. Key values such as freedom of expression, equality before the law, and solidarity among members are fundamental to the European identity. #eu #geopolitics #geopoliticalrisk #geopolitical
