✅ Thank you, RHITES (Reproductive Health Initiative for Telehealth Equity & Solutions) for highlighting the #safety, #effectiveness, and overall satisfaction that patients find when utilizing telehealth for #medication #abortion. ✅ While, research and public opinion show clear support for this type of healthcare, our access to #mifepristone (one of the two pills used for abortion care) is under threat. 🚨 On March 23, 2024, #SCOTUS will hear FDA et al. v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine which threatens to override years of FDA precedent, research, and processes to roll back access to #mifepristone and halt #telehealth access for #mifepristone. This decision is not just one about #abortion, it's about preserving #accountability and consistency in our healthcare system, government processes, and, as the lawyer for Danco, Inc., Jessica Ellsworth, said will impact "virtually every aspect of American Life" 🔊 Are you in the healthcare industry? If so, pay attention to this case and mobilize. Make your voice heard. #ProtectTelehealthforMedicationAbortion

In 2020, tele-abortion services saw a significant rise under Medicare, especially in remote areas. However, abortion rates in rural areas remain low due to limited practitioners, cultural influences, and logistical challenges (Noonan, Black, Luscombe and Tomnay, 2023). As a sexual and reproductive health organisation, we're committed to overcoming these barriers. Our Outreach Clinic program and partnership with CheckUP Australia aim to bring necessary care to rural and remote areas. Last year, our dedicated clinicians travelled over 65,000 km to bring healthcare to those in need. We believe that our partnership with CheckUp is a step towards addressing these challenges and ensuring every Queenslander has access to the healthcare they need. ✨ Learn more about our program: https://lnkd.in/g6xNSev9 📍 Noonan, A., Black, K., Luscombe, G., & Tomnay, J.
