Evaluating a job offer involves more than just looking at how much you'll get paid! Does it have the opportunities for progression that you're looking for? What is the company culture like? What are the additional company benefits like? Make sure to ask intelligent questions about these things during the recruitment process - and take the time to do your due diligence. There's also no harm in asking a few constructive questions about the job offer and/or contract. LinkedIn is also a great resource for this. For example: does the company have a string of employees who lasted less than a year? This could be a red flag that it is an unsustainable or toxic workplace. What factors do you consider when considering job offers? Share your thoughts! #CareerAdvice #JobSearch #EvaluatingOffers

Looking for a #job and you receive an unexpected call from a #recruiter…. What will you do?? First.. don’t Panic! And pick up the call 📞 These calls can come out of the blue and catch us off guard, but they also present exciting opportunities for professional growth . Let me help you out with some proven steps to ace the unexpected call- ✅ Stay Calm and Professional- When you receive an unexpected call from a recruiter, it's important to remain composed, introduce yourself and be polite. Take a deep breath, gather your thoughts, and focus on the conversation at hand. ✅Have a copy of your resume handy- This will make it easy to answer the recruiter's questions about your experience and qualifications. ✅Be Curious and Ask Questions- You are in the driver’s seat because they called you. So take control of the call, and learn more about the recruiter, their company, their client , and what they’re looking for. This will not only help you assess if the opportunity aligns with your career goals but also demonstrate your genuine interest and engagement. ✅Listen Attentively and Take Notes- Pay close attention to the recruiter's insights and information. Active listening will help you understand the requirements, expectations, and potential benefits of the opportunity. Take notes during the call to capture important details, such as next steps, deadlines, and any key points discussed. These notes will be valuable for future reference and can help you make informed decisions. ✅Assess Fit and Alignment-Evaluate how well the opportunity aligns with your skills, experience, and long-term career aspirations. Reflect on whether the role offers opportunities for growth, learning, and advancement. Assessing fit will help you make an informed decision about pursuing the opportunity further. ✅Be honest about your interest level- If you're not interested in the specific opportunity that the recruiter is calling about, be honest about it. The recruiter will appreciate your honesty and they may be able to find other opportunities that are a better fit for you. ✅Be prepared to negotiate- If you're interested in the opportunity, be prepared to negotiate salary, benefits, and other terms of the offer. ✅Express Appreciation and Follow Up- At the end of the call, express your gratitude to the recruiter for reaching out .Take the initiative to follow up with an email or LinkedIn message, reiterating your interest in the opportunity. Remember, unexpected calls from recruiters can open the doors for exciting career possibilities. Approach these calls with an open mind, curiosity, and professionalism. 📢 How to Maximize Your Relationship with a Recruiter 📢 In my last post, I shared why staying connected with a recruiter can be a game-changer for your career. Today, I want to focus on how you can make the most out of this valuable relationship. Here are some practical steps: 1. Keep Your Resume Updated: Even if you're not actively job hunting, having an up-to-date resume means you're always ready to seize opportunities. Make sure it reflects your latest achievements and skills. 2. Communicate Your Career Goals: Be clear with your recruiter about your career aspirations, interests, and any specific roles or companies you're interested in. This helps them tailor their search to your preferences. 3. Be Responsive: If a recruiter reaches out with an opportunity or advice, respond promptly. This shows your engagement and keeps you top of mind for future opportunities. 4. Leverage Their Market Insights: Don’t hesitate to ask your recruiter about industry trends, salary benchmarks, and skill demands. This information can help you make informed career decisions. 5. Seek Feedback: Use your recruiter as a resource for feedback on your resume, LinkedIn profile, and interview skills. Constructive criticism from an expert can be invaluable. 6. Stay Connected: Regularly check in with your recruiter, even if it’s just to update them on your current status. Building a long-term relationship ensures they understand your evolving career needs. 7. Be Open to Opportunities: Sometimes the best opportunities come when you least expect them. Be open-minded about considering new roles or industries that your recruiter suggests. Building a strong relationship with a recruiter takes effort, but the rewards can be significant. By following these steps, you can maximize the benefits of having a recruiter in your corner. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further advice on working with a recruiter. Let's stay connected and keep growing together! 🚀 #CareerAdvice #Recruitment #Networking #CareerGrowth #careerslaunch
