To assure glass compatibility of the injectable formulation in the area of current interest. Most of the common and serious challenges of glass compatibility are glass delamination. Glass delamination is basically the degradation of the glass and formation of the flakes as a result of the incompatibility with the product stored. The other factors which contribute to glass delamination are the Type of glass container used, Storage condition, and Pharmaceutical Processings like terminal sterilization. Glass delamination should be taken very seriously as it is when present in the formulations it is directly related to the health of the patient. Over the next decade of small molecule drug development, this means that 8000 compounds will fail due to non-clinical toxicity alone. Did you know that non-clinical toxicity is often linked to high lipophilicity of compounds? And did you know that lipophilicity is simply the ratio of the solubility in a lipidic environment vs. the solubility in an aqueous environment which can be readily measured? Even a 1% decrease in attrition due to non-clinical toxicity over the next decade would mean savings for global pharmaceutical R&D of 77 billion US dollars, an amount that would be enough to bring 26 new drugs to the market. The synthesized photocatalysts were characterized by FTIR, TG, XRD, BET, VSM, TEM and SEM techniques. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy was used to measure the band gap nergy of the synthesized photocatalyst.
