My worst interview experience! It was back on 2020, people said sometimes we should try to change our field. So here i am, being accompanied by my late mother because the company was too far way from my house. It was a logistic company & im applying for position Shipping Executive. I was interviewed by the manager 1-to-1. He ask me unprofessionally. When knowing i wanted to change field, from engineering to shipping, he scold me furiously because i want to change field until i felt want to cry. At the end of interview, he said his company also have enginering department & asked do i want to try. I said no politely. I was so grateful i didnt work in that company.

A 3-minute conversation can save someone 3 months. This idea resonated with me, reminding me of my own experience with referrals. During my two years at Ultratech, I referred 8 people—3 of them were my friends who studied with me, while the rest were friends of friends. At first, I worried that if any of them made mistakes, it might reflect poorly on me. But I soon realized that referrals aren’t guarantees—they’re opportunities. Mistakes are part of the learning process, and everyone deserves a chance to grow. Before hiring, I always took 5 minutes to have a conversation with the candidate, ensuring they had the potential or could be trained for the role. This simple step not only saved time but also helped people achieve their goals faster. To recruiters and managers: Don’t hesitate to have a brief conversation with someone who asks for a referral. Yes, it might not always work out—but that’s true whether the hire comes from a referral or a job portal. By giving people a chance, you could be opening doors for someone who just needs that one opportunity. Strategic Milestone for Job Hopping : (1) Some reasons for hopping jobs from one company to another : (1.1) Pursuing a new passion. (1.2) No structured training & development programs in your current company. (1.3) Very high staff turnover rate due to toxic working culture. (1.4) No annual increments and bonuses eventhough the company has been making money. (1.5) The salary ain't favorable, doesn't commensurate with qualifications and working experiences. (1.6) No prospects of career progressions. (1.7) Logistic issues, family related matters. (2) Hopping jobs ideally should be staggered in at least 2-3 years, rather than every 6 months as part of gaining working experiences and sustaining credibilities. (3) It's better to hop into a new big corporation during Engineering stage. In case of a Petrochemical Plant, its construction up to testing and commissioning will take 4 years. You will have ample time for learning a new process and technology. (4) In case you wanna hop into a big corporation abroad such as in Middle East, you must be highly experienced as a Technical Professional or Specialist in Engineering or Computer Science. You may give your positive comments as well.
