Today is a special day: World Environment Day and my daughter’s birthday.
This beautiful coincidence serves as a powerful reminder of why our actions today are so crucial for shaping a better future.
Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Her words ring true, once again, as we approach the European elections. These elections will shape the world our children will inherit.
Children and the climate don’t vote. Sadly, as Soufiane El Amrani from Inclusion Europe has repeated many times, many people with disabilities still face barriers to voting too.
Yet, their futures - our futures - depend on our choices.
Our votes can drive further change to combat climate change and build an inclusive, sustainable future.
So tomorrow, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, please vote if you can.
Vote for our children, our planet, and those who are often unheard.
Happy World Environment Day.
