In a sign of top-down regulatory shifts to more sustainable societies, environmental zones are being introduced. Recently Stockholms stad announced its zero emission zone. How can we continue to support the free movement of people and goods while ensuring consistency with this local regulatory zone? How do we solve logistical challenges associated with this shift? Not only do we not have all the answers, we cannot solve it alone. Consequently, we work with external partners to solve these societal challenges. On this topic, One small step forward is our Snabbsam project.

The purpose of the this project is to investigate a system demonstrator to support the rapid electrification of the vehicle fleet in the Stockholm region thereby helping to achieve the goal of an emission-free inner city by 2030.

The Electric Vehicles Symposium, EVS, is returning to Europe. Next year, Gothenburg will host the 38th edition, EVS38, the first ever in Sweden.
EVS is the premier event for the electrification of all modes of transport. The symposium brings together leading manufacturers, authorities, and researchers from all over the world. It is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors to Gothenburg, on 15-18 June 2025.
Gothenburg is one of Europe's most dynamic e-mobility clusters. The region holds the entire value chain in e-mobility and is home to innovative companies, academic and research institutions, unique test environments and demonstration projects, making it an ideal place to discuss and showcase the latest products and developments in the field.
Progressive brands including Volvo Cars, Volvo Group, Polestar, Einride, Heart Aerospace and Zeekr are headquartered or carrying out research and development here. In addition, Gothenburg and western Sweden have a fast-growing battery ecosystem, which in the coming years will feature, among other things, two battery gigafactories.

That’s a wrap! Rheinbahn AG, Düsseldorf, has successfully received the last of additional 8 all-electric Irizar ieBus 12 city buses, marking the completion of the latest delivery phase. With this vehicle Rheinbahn's Irizar fleet is back to original strength of 10 city buses after having lost 8 of them to a fire in one of their depots in April 2021.
The eight second-generation ieBus vehicles showcase Irizar e-mobility's commitment to innovation, featuring a new battery generation and a focus on weight reduction to enhance passenger capacity and range. Charging will primarily take place overnight by utilizing pantographs, that will provide notable ergonomic benefits for Rheinbahn employees.
As a prominent public transport company in Düsseldorf, Rheinbahn operates a diverse fleet with nearly 800 vehicles, serving approximately 550,000 passengers daily. A key objective for Rheinbahn is the ongoing renewal of its bus fleet, transitioning to zero-emission drive technologies to contribute significantly to environmentally friendly mobility in Düsseldorf and its surrounding areas.

Kicking Off Circular E-Cars: Driving the Future of Electric Vehicle Component Recycling ♻
The Graduate Program Circular E-Cars is breaking new ground by focusing on the recycling and reuse of components in electric vehicles (E-Cars). The project partners’ goal is to establish a circular economy that reduces waste and maximizes resource efficiency, transforming the Rhineland region into a leading hub for research, development, and innovation in sustainable automotive solutions.
This initiative will also strengthen the resilience of Germany's automotive value chain, one of the key industries for the country. In addition to addressing technical challenges, the project will explore new business models, optimize industrial sites, and develop workforce skills, with a special focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
By creating an innovation ecosystem, Circular E-Cars aims to generate at least 7,000 jobs in the circular economy across the Rhineland and make significant strides toward sustainability.
