During the month of May, we celebrate Asian/Pacific Islander American Heritage Month – a celebration of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. A rather broad term, Asian/Pacific encompasses all of the Asian continent and the Pacific islands of Melanesia (New Guinea, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji and the Solomon Islands), Micronesia (Marianas, Guam, Wake Island, Palau, Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Nauru and the Federated States of Micronesia) and Polynesia (New Zealand, Hawaiian Islands, Rotuma, Midway Islands, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Cook Islands, French Polynesia and Easter Island). Enacted on October 28, 1992, in the U.S. The purpose of the law is to honor the achievements of Asian/Pacific Americans and to recognize their contributions to the United States. THE MOORS 🔥 is a part of history that is not often relayed or displayed by neo colonialist. I wonder why? Moor or Moors is a term generally used by Europeans to describe the people of African descent and the Iberian Peninsula during the Middle Ages. Between 711 C.E. and 1492 C.E. people of African descent controlled parts of Iberia which consist of modern-day Spain and Portugal.

This month, we celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native Americans to our society. It's a time to honor the first peoples of this land and to learn more about their diverse histories and ongoing influence. This month provides an opportunity to educate ourselves about tribes, to raise awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and today, and to celebrate the vast contributions of Native Americans to our society.
