#FaultTolerance is remaining to be _the_ big challenge in #QuantumComputing. And #software support has to up its game in that regard. At a #IEEEQuantumWeek workshop, Lucas Berent talked about that---with a particular focus on #LDPC codes, architectures, and decoding. If interested in more, have a look at the corresponding #opensource implementations: 👉 #MQT QECC: https://lnkd.in/eNZeRXiQ 👉 LDPCv2: https://lnkd.in/eEs-asmz Many thanks to our collaborators Armands Strikis, Timo Hillmann, Armanda O. Quintavalle, Joschka Roffe, and Jens Eisert for the productive joint work on those topics!🙂 Many thanks also to Francisco Garcia-Herrero, Eduard Alarcon, and Carmen G. Almudéver for hosting the Workshop on "Towards Error Correction within Modular Quantum Computing Architectures" and having us!🙂 3/3 #QCE2024

I am pleased to announce that our paper "Swift and Accurate Mobility-Aware QoS Forecasting for Mobile Edge Environments" has been accepted by IEEE Transactions on Services Computing. Within this paper, we propose an innovative approach named MEC-RDESN (MEC QoS forecasting based on Region recognition and Dynamic Echo State Network) enabling mobility-aware and swift QoS forecasting in the mobile edge computing environment. MEC-RDESN offers efficient QoS forecasting while maintaining high accuracy. We can identify the edge region to which a user belongs in real time while moving by leveraging mobile sensing technology. We employ a dynamic echo state network characterized by multi-service adaptability to retain information about services invoked by users to ensure real-time training and forecasting accuracy. More details about this paper can be accessed from https://lnkd.in/gzWwjRUf #QoSForecasting #MobileEdgeComputing

At the All Hands of ETP4HPC, together with Nico Mittenzwey (MEGWARE Computer Vertrieb und Service GmbH), we presented our contribution to the Research Domain “System Architecture”, led by Estela Suarez (Juelich Supercomputing Centre) within the framework of the Strategic Research Agenda 6 (SRA6) Update. The SRA aims at being the Go-To, vendor neutral document capturing the state of Advanced Computing (AC) in Europe, and providing a roadmap for the further development of a competitive AC European ecosystem. The input provided by SRA6 to EuroHPC support in the long-term the definition of a European research and innovation agenda, and in the short-term highlight which research topics to support for R&I funding. SRA6’ Research Domains “System Architecture” deals with the evolution of overall HPC system architecture including the integration of the different hardware and software components, including processors, memory, network, storage and associated system administration aspects. #E4ComputerEngineering #EuroHPC

#Reconfigurable #intelligent #surface (#RIS) is a revolutionary technology that can customize the wireless channel and improve the energy efficiency of next-generation cellular networks. This letter proposes an #environment-#aware #codebook design by employing the statistical #channel #state #information (#CSI) for RIS-assisted #multiple-#input #single-#output (#MISO) systems. Specifically, first of all, the authors generate multiple virtual channels offline by utilizing the location information and design an environment-aware reflection coefficient codebook. Thus, they only need to estimate the composite channel and optimize the active transmit beamforming for each reflection coefficient in the pre-designed codebook, while simplifying the reflection optimization substantially. Moreover, they analyze the theoretical performance of the proposed scheme. ---- Xing Jia, Jiancheng An, 刘昊, Hongshu Liao, Lu Gan, Chau Yuen More details can be found at this link: https://lnkd.in/eH7mN4Tb
