In still life photography, there are numerous variations you can do in stylizing your setup. I particularly like this genre as it helps to develop a sense of aesthetics, even if you are using an assortment of common products. While creating this image during one of my classroom demos, my intention was to combine the glossy and matte earthenware. The addition of white silk backdrop and dried flowers enhanced the overall look. #stilllifephotography #fineart #stilllife

Feeling like a fancy drink Friday! Photography is not only about capturing the subject, but also showing texture with shadows and using them as directional arrows to help point the viewer where to look. I love taking photos with hard shadows. It makes the image look more dramatic, and has a beautiful contrast from light to dark.
