As part of our ongoing Wellbeing Talk Series at Riverstone, we were delighted to host the insightful "Your Health, Your Wealth” educational talk yesterday at our Kensington Residence, led by our Wellbeing Director, Dr Zoe Wyrko, and the Wellbeing team, this talk aimed to open the conversation about the complexities of care and the importance of maintaining independence. Dr Wyrko shared valuable insights into why maintaining good health is essential, as well as the various support options available and their associated costs. She emphasised the need to shift our perspective from viewing "care" as a necessity to recognising it as part of the support that enables individuals to stay independent and live fulfilling lives. Interestingly, while people often think that personal care will be a necessity, it’s surprising that only around 10% of individuals require it, and most of it is short-term support. This insightful talk was followed by an interactive Q&A session and lunch at Maria G’s, our brasserie-style neighbourhood Restaurant & bar. We were proud to support and sponsor a new award category at the 7th Annual Women in Art Prize, part of the Women in Art Initiative led by Gabrielle Du Plooy, gallery owner of Zebra One Gallery in Hampstead and champion of encouraging women to pursue careers in the art world. This year, Riverstone supported a new category “The Riverstone Prize,” for artists over 55, with the winning work displayed at our Bishops Avenue Marketing Suite & Community Hub. We’re delighted to be hosting an exclusive evening tonight in partnership with The National Gallery, celebrating one of Britain’s most beloved artists, David Hockney, and his inspirations. Guests will enjoy a private viewing of Hockney Piero: & A Longer Look, alongside a first glimpse of the once-in-a-century exhibition Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers. This extraordinary exhibition features some of Van Gogh’s most treasured works, many of which are rarely displayed to the public. Yesterday at the Urban Living Festival, Riverstone CEO Martin Earp shared his insights on later living.   In a landscape where later living continues to evolve, Martin highlighted how creating spaces that nurture independence, community, and a true sense of belonging is central to what makes Riverstone unique. While emphasising the overarching importance of supporting over 65s to continue living interesting and purposeful lives.   Martin's discussion also covered important topics such as affordability, design, and community connection, offering valuable perspectives on how to create meaningful spaces for those choosing to 'right-size.'   It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with fellow leaders committed to advancing the future of later living in the UK.
