We need to start telling our sons, daughters, nephews and nieces, It's ok to fail, It's ok to stop, It’s ok to take a break. But it is Not ok to quit. Let them know we understand and accept, so they can talk to us without shame or guilt. Corporate culture may never change. But we have to protect the ones we love. #corporateculture #job #careergrowth #corporatejobs

My daughter's favorite coworker is 83 years old. My oldest has 2 part-time jobs: One at Marshalls, the other at our local Y. Both employers see the benefits of age diversity. Joan (my daughter's coworker) is in her 4th or 5th act. She and her husband owned their own business. Now, she's working at Marshalls a few days/week. She likes the spending $$$ for sure. But she also just likes getting out. She loves sharing her wisdom with others. Studies estimate that age diverse workplaces are 1.1% more productive than those that aren't. So, let's revisit these biases and assumptions: Age diverse workplaces benefit EVERYONE. ♻ Repost to spread the word. #ageism #genx #babyboomers #genz #agediversity 🔔 Follow Colleen and Ageless Careers for career tips.

In honor of #kindnessweek, I want to remind you to live by the golden rule: treat others the way you want to be treated. #jobseekers: I know it's hard. I know it's frustrating. But keep putting your best foot forward and treat others with kindness and respect...especially those who are trying to help you. #hiringmanagers: Put yourself in that candidate's shoes and try to remember how hard it is to find a job. Have empathy and practice high-touch communication because no one wants to be left wondering if/when that offer will come through. With all of the negativity and violence in this world, let's do our part to make it a little bit brighter. ☀ #jobsearchtips #jobsearchstrategies #milspouse #militaryfamilies #veteranemployment #militaryspouseemployment

Never underestimate the importance of “work friends.” More than 25 years later, I cherish my lifelong friendships with these power women I met in the hallowed halls of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP as a summer associate. We have supported one another through weddings, children, divorce, the loss of parents and every other up and down life brings. I can’t imagine my life without them. May everyone be so fortunate to find such incredible “work friends” and the workplace that brings them together. Fellow HR Leaders: Promoting engagement and retention — and even getting employees into the office — requires more than intentional collaboration on work. Create opportunities and space for friendships to form. Professionals: Your place of work can be a valued community. Choose wisely. Careers After Babies Founder, Author & Accreditor | Speaker & Panellist | Transformation Expert | NED, Chair & Advisor | Passionate Diversity Advocate
My own experience of falling out of a very successful career was disheartening. 💔 But speaking to my fellow mums who had all had similar experiences was soul-destroying. One early conversation that really struck me was with a friend who had trained for more than seven years as a lawyer then, after a flourishing career where she flew through the ranks, had a baby. Her company were unwilling to take her back on anything less than the hours she had worked before and offered a part-time position as a paralegal. I was dumbstruck. How could this be possible? At that point the legal sector became top of my target list. What could I do to stop this happening to other amazing women? Most of you know what came next. An attempt to match mums to roles through my first company. Through that, I realised that picking at the edges wasn't going to be enough. I needed to do something bigger. Something that transformed businesses from the inside out. Enter....Careers After Babies. I did a huge piece of research into what happens to women's careers and published a report called Careers After Babies: The Uncomfortable Truth. It went viral. Hundreds of organisations reached out, shocked by the findings. With the help of some amazing experts I built a framework for how organisations could improve, looking at policy, process and practice. We launched our Careers After Babies accreditation last September. Since then I have spoken to countless organisations who know that something needs to be done to improve the support offered to working parents. You can imagine my delight when one of those organisations was a hugely influential and very well-known law firm: Mishcon de Reya LLP! Today we have formally announced that they are joining the accreditation. As a firm that truly recognises the value working parents bring to their business and their unwavering commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, we're utterly delighted to be working together. Legal sector, watch out! This beautiful partnership is the beginning of something big! #workingparents #makingchange #careersafterbabies

Retained recruiter finding “A” Talent for your organization. Executive Career & Business Coach 813.468.6396 Kelly@Kellybonnsolutions.com
When did we decide it’s ok to not follow up with people. Especially if that individual has given their time and resources. It’s happening at all ages and levels. It was not like this several years back. If you want positivity in your life, you must treat others with respect and gratitude. More and more stories of this when it comes to companies treating candidates so poorly. Internal recruiting is so broken. #kellybonnsolutions #2024kbs #followup #ghosting
