What should have been my crowning glory in 1995, It ended up in acrimony and our redundancy This is how the theft of recognition is accomplished in CSIRO. Australia & CSIRO failed to capitalized on my initiative. To put this in perspective SIROCard was a "dynamic balancing of carding rollers" ( failed ) SIROSpin was a "automatic cut out on spinning single yarn" Two SIROxxx about 25y and more This propelled people like Dr.D.Plate to a Chief position in the now closed CSIRO Div of WT I read the history on how people grew a reputation in CSIRO after several patents I thought - no matter what my shortcomings were I was ongoing and my career was moving forward. It was not so as there is one sin in CSIRO that is unforgivable - petty jealousies. That becomes a problem and it's source was a group leader and his cronies. This spelled an end to careers of Dr.B.Kirby and my own. CSIRO will use an argument that they are an employer and they can practice who they hire and make redundant... That is ok by me but the need is to stop CSIRO BS and internal toxic politics. I own the two prototypes that will radically improve fibre processing. They can be linked back to my work in CSIRO. Problem becomes one of getting CSIRO writing a release from my T&C I signed when I commenced work there. They are unwilling to do that as they know that I am more than capable as I have track record with CSIRO on delivering on my promise. They on the other hand will attempt to wait my development and then lodge a claim of IP belonging to CSIRO while doing very little of the development work. They did try for 12 years to take my work forward - 4 times as much time as Dr.B.Kirby and I spent - they failed dismally. On the end to cover up they gave each other CSIRO medals and fellowships so their incompetence can never be questioned. Read the last line in the CSIRO discussion on combing it shows NSC Schlumberger has conceded that my work "can open the way to further speed increase". reward for my effort by improving the dynamics of the cam and not only the "short retraction" was ...REDUNDANCY as CSIRO had to cover up their stupidity. ===>> I value technical skills, baseline of engineering and science My first 100 publication on the LinkedIn : https://lnkd.in/ge8ZPvbK Merit in CSIRO or technical skills are meaningless. Once I had respect for CSIRO now I don't CSIRO so much possibilities so much waste. One can always rely on CSIRO making people with hard skills redundant. Work was enjoyable management made the place toxic ( not from work but internal politics & management ) so much so that I required medical leave after my biggest patent for that csiro division in 1994 effects & resentment to theft of my recognition I feel even today. One of the purposes of the NALP #annualeducationconference is to reconnect with others in the industry, especially for those of us in it for a long time. Last week, it was great to catch up with people who I have grown up with in the profession, who have been instrumental in my own career development, (looking at you, Debby, Michele, Emily, Victor, Yujin, Kathren, Carryn). And, then to be sitting next to Carryn at the Flo Recruit dinner! Carryn and I are part of each other’s law firm “origin stories” and it was fun to relive and share how we were trained in that bygone era, from use of significant digits in GPA calculations, the order the doucments appeared in the callback file, printing callback documents on the appropriate colored paper, the correct *full* names of law schools on the appropriately colored file labels, callback reports, FedEx’ing candidate files to Chicago prior to the 5:00 p.m. cutoff, arraning seating charts for recruiting dinners, etc. And, to top the week off, I get to see my oversized headshot at the business meeting, when I was recognized with Clara Solomon and Donna Gerson by our peers at NALP, for doing “work,” that I don’t really consider work. It is so fulfilling when I can connect people and, more importantly, advance other careers. And, to feel and hear the appreciation from the #aapi members, well, it makes it all worthwhile.  #nalp #nalpannual #legalrecruiting
