Did you know that I wrote and published a poem titled "Safety First" before I founded FIC Human Resource Partners? Well, I did. It was inspired by my experience working at a facility where the safety culture didn't align with the safety training and slogans promoted by corporate. The disconnect between words and actions was beyond obvious to all of us in that shop. What I learned working at that facility is that it's all too easy for gaps to develop between safety values, rhetoric, and actual practices. And that as those gaps widen, employee trust and adherence quickly erode until all that is left are meaningless slogans no one pays attention to.  That experience is at the root of what led me to develop the FIC Safety Culture Framework. Here's why I believe our framework is beneficial: -         It provides a structured way to evaluate safety culture across multiple dimensions, from organizational commitment to individual understanding. -         We've paired the framework with an actionable process (Focus, Integrate, Cultivate) that helps bridge the gap between safety rhetoric and reality. -         Our approach emphasizes the multifaceted nature of safety culture, recognizing that it's not just about rules, but about creating an environment where safety is woven into every aspect of operations. -         It includes an assessment that measures employee and leadership sentiments and commitment to safety. -         It helps organizations identify and address such gaps, preventing the kind of contradictions that inspired my poem all those years ago. https://lnkd.in/eDNYT7m7 #WorkplaceSafety #SafetyCulture #Leadership

The cultures within organizations and on projects should be all about making safety personal. Why increasing TRUST we make organizations safer ? During the implementation phase of our Schindler Operational Safety program, one of the core actionable items is the enhancement of the TRUST among employees towards the Leadership and vice versa. We are deploying a series of tools to increase Trust on a tangible manner. In this context, we strongly believe that the higher the TRUST levels across the organizations are, the wider capacity for work safely is. Quoting here Prof. Erik Hollnagel, is not about work with SAFETY, but to work SAFELY.

Today's Safety Week topic focuses on strengthening our culture. As an industry leader known for our safety culture, we haven't gotten to where we are without putting in the work. We're also aware that the journey is not over. This is why we remain focused on our people and developing innovative methods to safely complete our projects.

Safety Attitude (feeling and thinking) will influence our decision and behavior which able influence the peer or team and form the safety culture in organization. when the positive culture formed, most of the risk controlled majorly.

Motivation & Appreciation is important factor for enhance safety culture.

The importance of safety culture in our organization. As we strive for excellence in both safety and production, it is crucial that we assess our current safety culture and identify areas for improvement. By examining the attached image, we can gain insights into our safety culture and determine which stage we currently fall under: 1. Reactive Stage 🚧 2. Compliant Stage 👮 3. Proactive Stage 👷 4. Mature Stage 🏆 5. Sustainability. Our goal is to achieve a mature safety culture where safety is prioritized and integrated into every aspect of our operations. To accomplish this, we must work together to foster a culture of continuous improvement, open communication, and accountability. Let us all commit to creating a safe and healthy work environment for ourselves and our colleagues. Remember, safety is not just a priority; it is a core value that drives our success.
