#kopitalk on what makes you happy. the answer is it depends. but focus on what makes you happy makes you happy. Some say alignment of meaning and purpose. Some say achievements and growth. Others feel connections and relationships are equally important. Some say inner peace, and some achieve happiness by giving back and paying it forward. Ultimately, it may vary from person to person. What’s most important is finding what resonates with you and leads to a life that feels rich and rewarding. But first, make yourself happy. Some people will never understand this. It really is that simple to build a starting point EQ model and leverage your relationships to success. And win allies along the way. Funny enough? Some companies don’t even give you the time to build this key to your success. Cheers! If you’re in transition this is a GREAT way to jump back in and find the water flow quickly. #helpingmyfriends #powerthroughnetwork

Top notch analyst and relationship manager ensuring reporting, audit, and processes are efficient and accurate
I was taken aback when watching the Olympics the other day and noticing that UKG aired their Time of Your Life commercial. It's unsettling to see this after the recent layoff of 14% of their workforce. The terminated employees, some of whom found out through insensitive means, (receiving their equipment return label before officially being notified) surely wouldn’t resonate with the sentiment of the commercial. For those that haven’t seen the 30 second spot, it shows new and existing employees having “the time of their life” working at the company. Airing an ad during such a prominent event at such a high cost (upwards of $1M) while promoting themselves as a Best Place to Work raises a lot of questions and definitely my eyebrows. For the approximately 2,100 individuals who lost their jobs, seeing this ad must have been a painful reminder of their recent experience. In my opinion, this move is not the right approach to recover from a poorly executed restructuring. It feels premature to showcase such an ad so soon after letting go a significant number of employees. I hope people are watching and take notice of the insensitivity of the UKG leadership team and consider this when they are choosing who to collaborate with in the future. I know I am.

💯 this is how it feels. And the impact of those words goes on well beyond that day. Speak the greatness of your team members in front of the team. Your words and actions as a leader create the culture and drive the possibilities for each one of them. Invest...the return on that investment is huge.

I am a huge Duolingo fan. For one thing, they use data better than any other #edtech company I know to create impactful and personalized learning experiences. They also use humor to engage people in wacky ways. During this year's Super Bowl, for example, they ran a 5-second ad and sent out 4 million simultaneous push notifications reminding learners to do their lesson... no butts about it! Sheer marketing genius... Workforce #learninganddevelopment should take some lessons from Duolingo too. (Link to the full story in the comments) #learningtechnology #marketing Luis von Ahn
I'll just leave this here.
